i'm also having the same problem but i did try using your script but it too didnt work also i cant really have a new user or reinstall windows as its a work computer and i should only have my account i do have admin rights but just need to sort out this problem of it always opening in new windows i have tried everything mentioned here and still it doesnt work has anyone got another idea? :sad:

open a folder

click Tools > Folder Options

click "Open each folder in the same window" in the "Browse Folders" section.

Problem solved!
