no user names on welcome screen

ok i have a hp pavilion ze4500 laptop and when i go to turn it on now and i go to the welcome screen it is blank of users

it was running on windows xp service pack 2
when i try ctrl+alt+del+del and tried to sign on i could not with the default name owner and no password

i have tried system recovery twice and it was fine for awhile and then it eventually happened again. by the third time i no something is wrong and i really dont feel like doing anouther system revovery
any hlp would be apreciated, thx

I think you should set password for you account
Control panel --> Account management --> set password

then at the welcome screen you should enter password

for setting password on administrator:
shift+right click on account management --> run as administrator.

well i cant sign on in anyway at all atm and i was wondering if there was a alternate option rather then just doing anouther system restore and hoping it doesnt happen again
