Acer 5100 problems

I am having problems with my laptop acer 5100 it will not boot up from disk ,or from any of the safe modes .when it tries to start it beeps twice and this page comes up
when starting the laptop acer 5100 it tyries to start and it shows the following
Bus 06, device 02 ,function 00
error
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 00
error
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 01
error
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 02
error
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 03
when trying to start from safe mode the last of the drivers is agpcq.sys can anybody help me with this

Im just trying to figure out dose it beep after the Bios Screen or has it started loading windows?
If it beeps at the bios screen then it sounds as though its not passing the POST test.

I repair laptops and work for PC Clinic in Grimsby

I have repaired quite a lot of the Acer 5*** Series laptops with this fault.

To have it repaired is £60 as the motherboard has to be removed to be fixed so the entire laptop requires completely stripping down.

The job takes a couple of hours and is a 100% fix for the following fault.
Bus 06, device 02 ,function 00

bus 06 device 04 function 00
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 01
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 02
resource conflict pci in slot 03
bus 06 device 04 function 03
Or other bus errors.

Please note that Acer themselves dont know the real fault for this model, they will just upgrade your bios and the fault will return within a few days.

Could you expand a little on the cure? I have an Acer Aspire 5102 with almost identical symptoms. I have not yet had a reply from Acer (Australia), but my laptop in NZ is a long way from Sydney and even further from Grimsby :-) Any advice re type of fault, component(s) affected etc would be much appreciated.

As an aside, XP does not boot, but Ubuntu does but is missing dialup modem and lan

Im so glad to find others with the same problem I have. Its been frustrating. My IT guy at work cant fix it. My techy friend says my bios is corrupted. My laptop gives me hell. If I can get past all the beeping and errors and get on, its a blessing. just never know when that will be. I wish some one could come up with a quick fix that wouldnt cost an arm and a leg or is easy to fix. I need my laptop and Im not able to go purchase a new one. *sigh* :S

I contacted Rob in May 2008, with this problem.
Sadly Rob no longer works for PC Clinic, so was unable to help.
This fault is a known problem with the Acer 5100.
Acer fit new motherboards for all laptops still in guarantee, after that you are on your own.
My own 5100 failed after just 13 months, just out of the guarantee.
Acer would not respond to e.mails or even talk to me about it.
So much for the legendary Chinese honor.
The answer is not to buy Acer products.
