Try http://windows.about.com/od/maintainandfix/ss/CHKDSK.htm if in fact you have a problem. If you do, a little more description would help :)

right click on c: drive and properties and then click the tools tab. under error-checking click "check now" button and check both boxes and ok and will have you schedule for next boot then restart computer and this will run for a while maybe a few hours if it finds something and then you should be ok.
