hi guys,

Getting some wierd networking issues between two of our sun boxes I will first explain the set up.

Box one: running solaris 10 with one physical network connection into a switch

Box two: running solaris 8 with three pyhsical network connections two into the same switch as above one into a sepearte switch.

The third connection on the second box can pretty much be ignored, so therefore all the boxes have phyiscal connections on the same switch. The switch only has one vlan configured on it as all boxes are on the same subnet.

The problem:

Box one cannot see box two and vice versa, however this is an intermentant problem. Also if I look from box one to box two on the secondary network interface all is fine.

However every other box connected to the switch can see both boxes on all network interfaces absoultutly fine without any problems.

Port settings: On box one the box is set to auto neg on both the box and switch.

On box two both the switch and box are set to pinned at 100 full.

There is no conflict of IP address and all routing tables are fine not that routing should be an issue as the servers should never need to get out of thier own subnet.
