Have wireless and network connection, but no internet. Hijack included.

Running windows XP using Belkin Wireless Network Utility. I show strong connetion on the wireless side and LAN. Chrome, IE7 and Firefox are all unable to connect. I've run multiple virus scans, winsockXP, registry scan and tried to reinstall the browsers. I've gone through multiple threads here and could not find a fix. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do You Know Why You Cannot Serve The Network When You Have A Wireless Router? I Have Two Opinions'

1) Either You Do Not Connect The Modem

2) You Do Not Have (At Least) Two WLAN

What is your network setup? What kind of wireless router are you using? Is the wireless router attached to the internet? Can you access the wireless router's web-based administrative console?

If you go into the Windows command prompt (Run > cmd) and type ipconfig /all, what does it tell you?

I bounce off a few routers, work, home and dad's place. All are linksys. The Belkin Wireless Utility shows full connection. I also hookup directly to the laptop from my cable modem (Comcast Cable here) also show full 100mps connection but can't access the web.

Running ipconfig shows a connection to local IP, subnet and default gateway both with wireless and ethernet. But still web browers do not work.

Determine the IP of the router and try to ping it to determine connectivity.

Windows XP. The local IP wireless is 192.168.1.101 and ethernet 10.121.3.107 The router is in another companys office. I am connected to my companies local network.

I would get the IP of the router and ping it to ensure that you have connectivity -- am I right to assume that your IP is assigned dynamically via DHCP?

I can do that, but what does the wireless router have to do with the ethernet connection? Both show being connected but web browsers not working....

Correct on DHCP.

Routers are not all wireless. They take packets of information and share them between networks. Unless you are plugged directly into a modem, I would be surprised if there were not a router in your network. Find the IP of the router -- ask the IT specialist or whoever else you have -- and then ping it. They can show connectivity (albeit local connectivity) and still not be appropriately connected.

I am plugged in directly to a modem and have my wireless up. I have another laptop in the house that works fine. At work I'm plugged directly into my network and running wireless, still I have nothing yet the other computers in my office running wireless work.

If Your Router Is Linksys Then I Suggest U Should Go To The Back Of The Router And Pock A Small Pin Or Pen Into A Hole.. That Would Reset The Whole Router..
