Well you could always just stop his post count, seeing as you are the 'almighty one' here. When he hits 10k, stop his post counter. I'm sure its easy to do for a person as clever and crafty as you :P

Don't use Norton internet security!
Most RAM draining application in existence!
Get AVG Internet security, much better and cheaper :)
I have had too many bad problems with Norton IS 2007. They have lost my trust.

Also consider using this website:
http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/loader.aspx?Agree=Yes
Download the scanner, run it and you will see what types of RAM you can use with your machine, and how much each slot can take. You can buy RAM from crucial as well if you want to.

You get some pop

I put in some snap and crackle

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

lol
I don't think i will reach Bennets amount of posts :P
Not just yet... As i type he's probably posted on 12 threads! But his target is to become the highest poster, so watch out Dani :D

You get some Coldplay, ah soothing....

I put in some Dream Theater

Does your monitor plug into a gfx card of any sorts, or is it just connected to the motherboard? If it is connected to the motherboard you are using on-board graphics, otherwise you are connected into some sort of graphics card. But the best way is to look to the slot itself.

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

That was at the beginning Bennet, it had nothing to do with that in the end. Windows Media Player for the world!

Funwadi, if your problem has been solved, please mark this thread as solved, so that people don't randomly spam answers in here :P

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

Also where has the "View Today's Posts" and "View Posts Since Last Visit" links gone? I figured out that you click the main heading and it takes you there, but I like a list myself, looks more, perhaps organised?

What i meant before Dani was that the extra Purple bar adds more room between the post area and the links, and then there is an extra white gap which adds more room between them. It's just a silly thing with my high-speed gaming mouse thing :P

Otherwise it's gets the thumbs up!

If it's only a year old, i would think it would have PCI-E x16. Mine is 3/4 years old as has PCI-E x16.
Taking off the case side panel is an easy thing to do and won't harm your computer. As long as you do it when your PC is turned off. If you would like instructions on how to check the PSU and the gfx card slot type I'll type them up for you. Did your friend look in the computer, to see the PCI-E PEG type 1x slot?

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

You get Skype

I put in a Box of Maltesers

Well, congrats ...
This is a great thread because this is my first BIG milestone of 500 posts
Don't mean to steal any of your spot light Serunson, im just really excited for both you and me!!! :)

I'm liking the new split bar across the top. Because my mouse moves so damn fast across the screen, it used to select the forum drop-downs instead of the main screen. Looks good to me :)

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

Woot this is my 2,000th post

Wow in just under a years membership of the fabulous Daniweb, i have hit the second milestone. Big thanks to the Daniweb team for keeping this website going, :icon_biggrin:

I didn't think i would be here to see 2,000 posts, shows how much i know :D

Not CPU time, but RAM would get used a lot. CPU would get drained however if you ran a scan with them at the same time. Otherwise with normal running of your computer your RAM would get used up.

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

You get a Mule

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

I use, Norts IS 2007 (although i hate the damn thing), AVG free, Spybot S&D and Comodo firewall, and no conflicts.

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

Another Issue solved.
Hope it works well from now on :)

Well what i would think you would need is a wireless router, which you have ordered and some wireless adapters. These will then work with your wireless router to send information from one computer to the other. What you would need to do is set up a Wireless network either using XP's or Vista's Networking wizards. So that the two computers can 'talk' to each other. Another option you could try is a cross-over cable. This I believe connects straight from one computer to the other. Please correct me if I am wrong someone.

Most likely being caused by a wire shorting or sparking on something inside the PSU itself. As the others have said, this could become a health risk, remove it, and replace it.

Serunson 413 Posting Maven

Well As long as you don't poke your fingers into your case while the PSU is on, it will be fine. Have you cut the wires but left the attachments still connected to the mobo? Is that what you mean?

The easiest way to check the power of you PSU (power supply unit), is to open up your case and look at the label on the side of your PSU. This will then tell you a value in Watts (W). Most common values range from around 230W upwards, depending on the age of your machine. Too run top of the range graphics cards a PSU of around 500W is best. Anything lower than 400W, and you Graphics card will struggle to work at optimum performance.
