Did you turn the computer off, before you changeed the mouse and keyboard out, if you didn't you may have caused damage to the new keyboard, and mouse.

I am not sure, but I think the 3-pin connector is universal throughout all manufactorers, the only problem is if it universal, you need to make sure you get the same size fan. But I am not totally positive the connector part.

It is just where you can record data on both sides of the Disc, and yes it is a special disk, and I want to say I say them at best buy for 15 bucks for 3 of them, but I am nto sure about that one.

I have that problem sometimes too with my USB thumb drive, it will not boot, I think that is because of the boot sequence it is look for anything else before it boots from the HD, check the boot sequence to see what the Computer looks for first.
