MSconfig and "open with" problems

I have been trying to fix my computer for a couple of days now because I have a Fatal System Error problem. I have been searching everywhere online as to how to fix this dilemma, and majority of the answers consists of me opening 'run' and searching for 'msconfig'. Now the problem is that everytime I open run and search for msconfig, the "open with" window appears, similar to when I open any other programs in the computer.

I also did search for msconfig to see if I have it in my computer, and I do... but I can't open it

Every suggestion to helping with this problem would be greatly appreciated

This may be a virus.
Try copying Msconfig and renaming copy msc.exe ( or similar ).
Then the copy should run.

What does this mean?
Entering msconfig in the run box should run it. No need to search.

hi,

just install mcafee antivirus then update

then you need to scan your computer you will find so many worm virus
and trojon..

after done scaning you need to just copy paste msconfig file in your c drive

download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

• Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
• At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
  • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
• then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
