Hello

for the past few days, whenever I connect to the internet, my computer slows down and eventually completely freezes. If i disconnect from the internet, it starts working again! I have run a few virus scans (mcafee) and a few trojans were found and removed however the problem still exists. Based on another post from this forum, I installed the highjack tool and ran a log. Below is the results...anything look suspicious. Thanks in advance

Just a quick question - How much RAM do you have in your computer and do you visit websites that run large games or anything else like that.

0

thanks for your reply

i have .99GB of ram. I do not visit gamin website, just normal browsing. Note, my computer only hangs when I connect to the internet. And my browser is acting very strange...keeps redirecting me to different sites when I do a google search for example. No site inparticular...seems i get page cannot be displayed alot as well.

0

Ok... I'll see what I can dig up. It might take a day if I can think of anything.

PS...I can't make any guarantees and also, are you using wireless?

0

you are suppose to put hijack logs in the virus and spayware and other nasties section of daniweb for best help . there are a few possiable nasties in the log .

0

thanks very much. how can i move this to the virus and spayware and other nasties section of daniweb? Didnt realize i had posted in the wrong area...just put in in the same area where I saw other posts on this topic! - newbie move I guess!!

I'd Just start a new thread in that section and copy and paste your text in a new post. Ps. I'm a newbie too :)

They'll be able to help you better there.
