I recently had a scare with my PDC running Server 2003 SP1. This server is out of HDD space and has two failing HDDs so I fear it's not long for this world. I have two other servers also running Server2003 (but SP2, I don't know if that would matter) and I'd like to make one of them a BDC to eventually migrate to the PDC when I retire the current PDC. Or at the very least backup the PDC so if I have to rebuild it I can restore my domain.
Can anyone suggest some resources for this? I've been looking around TechNet, but haven't found a whole lot of detail.

Hi,

Well concept is that the BDC is in case PDC fails so u can promote ur BDC in PDC without any problems..(I dont think that it would b a problem with sp1 - sp2) the only loss might be only the users that havent been replicated to the BDC during PDC off..
