I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the background behind the text on icons in windows xp. I can't figure out how to do this, and it makes the wallpaper look stupid with all of these blue backgrounds for the text.

what file extension is the wallpaper you're using?

It doesn't just happen on any specific file extension. But after a couple of hours of trial and error I found out how to do it, control panel -> system -> advance -> performance -->settings -> check off use drop shadows. Pretty easy fix, can't believe I didnt see that when I tried to fix it the first time.

I just did what you said and it didn't work! =( Could you give any more advice on how to do it? Becouse it getting really anoying.

Worked for me. Thanks.....
