Hi if anyone has time I need serious help....

ok i tried to upgrade to win xp
it told me to delete the partition
i did....

then it couldn't recognize my old op system so with no avail i gave up....

so i finally found my old win 2000 pro disk and reinstall....

wiping off all the old data and everything....

now i get the bios page then it acts like its gonna boot but....

it doesn't all i get is "error loading operating system"

argh!!!! now what do I do????????

PLEASE TELL ME!!!!

Are you booting from the CD, which is what needs to be done?

yes i did that and then the pc restarts...
then i get the message....

I think that deleting a partition has got your system out of a state of grace.

I hope you've got your important data backed up and it wasn't on the partition you deleted.

I would boot from the CD and completely reformat the HDD. That means using FDISK to set up a single partition (NTFS) to become the C: drive. Then Format the disk. Then use the CD to install your operating system.

everything is gone...

it's all one partition.....

You boot from the Windows XP CD and drive SETUP.EXE from the command line assuming the disk is now NTFS formatted.
