then it couldn't recognize my old op system so with no avail i gave up....

so i finally found my old win 2000 pro disk and reinstall....

wiping off all the old data and everything....

now i get the bios page then it acts like its gonna boot but....

it doesn't all i get is "error loading operating system"

argh!!!! now what do I do????????

PLEASE TELL ME!!!!

Are you booting from the CD, which is what needs to be done?

yes i did that and then the pc restarts...
then i get the message....

I think that deleting a partition has got your system out of a state of grace.

I hope you've got your important data backed up and it wasn't on the partition you deleted.

I would boot from the CD and completely reformat the HDD. That means using FDISK to set up a single partition (NTFS) to become the C: drive. Then Format the disk. Then use the CD to install your operating system.

ok how do i do that...

everything is gone...

it's all one partition.....

You boot from the Windows XP CD and drive SETUP.EXE from the command line assuming the disk is now NTFS formatted.
