Isn't there a way to see how long a process has been running? Just do a little math with running time from explorer.
I think my best was 37 days, before the system locked up. It was a dual p133 server that does nothing but give me an extra harddrive on my network. It'll randomly lock up occationally.

Yeah go to Task Manager under Processes Tab and look at the time. Shows how long eachand every process has been up for.

So far about 5 of my friends claim to have the same problem as me. This is totally cool because I know now it must be a windows update. Every since the windows update we all have this problem.

In the Control Panels
Go to Sounds
Then to Audio Tab
Sound Playback / Preferred Devices
Then to Advanced
Under Speakers
Speaker Setup / Select 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers

Select 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers - It doesn't save the setting any more once you do a restart, it goes back to Stereo Headphones I haven't yet confirmed this on all 5 PC's yet on mine it doesn't keep the proper settings since the last windows update. Since this option gets selected you can't hear crap from your speakers. I find this very interesting sorry just got back from work and this is exciting. Talk to you guys later.

Good luck buddy they do it to get credit in pissing you off. So we talk about it like we are now. No reward I would love to do something and have everybody every where on radio on TV and on fourms talk about my spyware/virus. That's just me buddy since you seem to be very techy why not a reformat like I always recommand. Unless this is a business we can get into some work arounds. Sorry I am going for a quick fix that will work no matter what. He can keep fixing it but, he seems to have so much it will just keep coming back and will keep giving him a headache.

If you tried those two & it didn't remove the spyware man seriously I know people might disagree with me but, I think it might be time to reformat. Besides you'll get good practice.

I show them once and have them do it 5 times in a row after that they know how to and understand how easy and fast it is then sometimes trying to fix a glitch like the one you have. Simple easy 5 minutes.

Do you have Norton installed? Do you have DiskKeeper installed? If yes uninstall them and see if that works.

The ads, the pop ups, the Spyware, the spam, the headache, will it ever end? Sadly probably not but, there are ways of getting rid of this junk but, sadly it will be back it's just a matter of time. Doesn't matter what anybody says Spyware is here to stay. It started with pop-ups then went to spam and from spam it went to Spyware. Spyware is like a bad legal virus, it first installs it's self fifty different ways making sure you don't know where it is really located. Some even install tons and tons of strings to the registry making it impossible to find or should I say most. The worse case is when you try to delete it and restarts it's self coming back in a more powerful form while making your home page there advertisement, when you didn't ask it to, while taking up 100% of your CPU usage as a bonus. Normally you get this from low profile porn sites, sites that are not well known or even downloads of files/games that you think are cool but, there just another type of Spyware ready to advertise the hell out of your personal computer. Free MP3 sites, crack sites, warez sites all these sites normally carry Spyware "now". Sad thing is, some …

This build you really can't "Update" it because the updates you see are not meant for this build. Another thing is I happen to be a MS beta tester so there is no timer. Also if you remember about 1 1/2 year ago MS sent out beta testers the 20 CD kit this happened to the be one of many flavors of Win .NET/2003

I have just reset my network connection the other day. Is there any other way to tell how long Windows has been up for? However, my other network connection says 18 days. Pretty impressive for a main computer that has a load of shit installed that I use for everything.

Not that I know of Dani I know there is a thrid party software but, nothing is like the network connection dialog box.

Update.exe I believe it is only for WinXP Home/Pro being the Windows Update program that goes out to the internet. Did you mean you want to turn off the Windows Update from being Auto updated on start up? Let us know buddy.
