Have you tired a different browser? This this just recently happen. Lets see run through a couple of things with me. Reinstall the SP1 first then if that doesn't work try a different browser if these steps don't work we will go from there.

There is a free backup program I think this was it but, I am not sure I know there is a free program that backups all data from Outlook 2000+ and Outlook Express.

I am going to start a vote for IE/Mozilla fourm because mozilla/firefox is the future of internet browsing it is coming at IE like a bullet do you agree with me? I know this is a IE totally agree but, I feel in the next couple of months IE/Mozilla or a plain Mozilla fourm. I don't know I always look at what's comuing up next.

Thanks Jimmy/MadDog ... I actually downloaded Opera and that works fine ... what are the pros and cons of Opera v. Mozilla? But I still want to fix the IE problem.. so will keep chipping away .. given that Opera works this obviously reduces the set of options for IE not working ....

Well not my fault IE sucks reinstall it or better yet be a man and reformat your box it takes 20 mins and your back at square one.

I would drop Windows 98. I would go to Windows XP.
Second I would drop IE and switch over to Mozilla. You can download it at www.mozilla.org

Seriously Chris all your problems will go away and you follow my steps.

First your PC went through a lot stuff. I would highly recommand www.mozilla.com drop IE for now you will go back to it every now and then you will like mozilla a ton better.

No Way, why chuck a good machine? if it was off when the flooding occured take all the computer parts out the machine let them sit out for a few day to dry off and they should be good to go. My dad is an electronic technician I have seen him wash many circuit boards. This also depend on how old it is to and how long it was under water. but mainly, if the machine was off, it should still run fine once it has dried out.

Not a problem give it a week and you will never go back to IE 3well for some things. Give it a week. You know there is tab browing and a lot of other really really handy features I wish IE would put in. Seems today about 15% are mozilla browers searching the web which is a good thing.

Well the power went out and of course UPS's also work and last so long. I will be posting a picture sometime this week of the uptime I got. Sadly I know it was at 151 days. But I only have a picture of 148 days. This has been a sad day the file server and it never has been the same.

hmmmmm didn't read many answers but, are you downloading illegal music man? Because if you download a .wma and it doesn't play or no sound comes out it's because it is now copy protected and your downloading off someone who paid for it on like napster lets say. Something to think about.

Yeah just bring it in some store like RadioShack or something show them the battery and tell them you want a new one. Or just say you want a battery for your CMOS battery for your Motherboard I am sure they will give you the right one. Besides it's only what 2 dollars?
