PC Anywhere is the biggest name but, to me at least not the best bet.
VNC is tight because of the muilt user platform support.
Here where it get tricky. Remotely Anywhere is the coolest Remote Desktop app it monitors everything so well you need to try it out to believe it. It is web based you have the server and the other side has the Brower. Now everything is perfect couldn't get better expect the Remote Desktop part. Mouse & keyboard movements never been worse. So I gave it 5 out of 5 on the monitor part but, a 0/5 on the remote desktop part.

I am on a Windows 95 box at work with 16MB when I access the home PC from home and it smokes in speed makes me feel that I am at home. By the way this app is not web based you need to install a 1.3MB file.
Just get two $5 ethernet cards and get a $10 hub and network them plain and simple. P to P is just a waste of time resources and gives everyone a headache. By the way make sure you enable file & print sharing since your on a weak old system with no memory management please follow there certain cirts.
but what the problem is...when i load the windows files on there it should boot from hard disk and continue with setup...but it will not. I do not believe my hard drive is bad...it is farley new. but i did seem to recieve some sort of virus i guess that has infected the files in start up.
Get a Full copy of Windows XP Pro it's only like $100 and way worth it if your a average home user. Just get a full copy of it install it no more problems brother. By the way upgrading is not doing anything expect transfering problems to a new GUI.

What a month, wow I cant believe it is almost over. I just felt like I wrote my last article yesterday. I been reading a lot catching up if you say and noticed how things are "finally" changing in technology (it's about time!). We got 64bit processing around the corner as well 64bit PCI slots or should I say PCI Express that is looking to take over shortly. DDR3200 getting more and more popular, PC2100 is a thing of the past, people getting heat sinks for everything now, ram being one, hard drives, chipsets, video cards the list doesn't end. As of today I heard a fan-less computer with just heat sinks; that keeps cool! (am I crazy?) I am waiting for heat sinks to go on cabling, boy that would be the day.
Sad but, it might happen by the end of this year AGP8x might be a thing of the past, I heard stories of that technology going away possibly soon. Good old Firewire and USB 2.0 just won the market, I don't see any external products any more that aren't Firewire and/or USB 2.0 people don't use a PC anymore just to do homework they want to game, scan pictures, watch movies, do video editing and more. First off none of them are faster, it all depends on so many different things you can't really compare them, you can compare them to charts and what's proven, so lets go by the average ISP that provides these services. hmmm sounds like a case I heard of once too many times you said you turned off your firewall is this correct. Now if he does have a wireless router then boom, I think when he said he turned off his firewall that was his personal firewall. What about the firewall that sits on XP Pro is that turned on? Try turning it off bro because that firewall doesn't let you ping either.
Make sure File & Print Sharing is on both boxes as well as that firewall built into WinXP Pro is turned off. Oh yeah make sure your sharing something for a test.

Yep there can be a lot just putting in my two cents playing with Disk Keeper. There is a lot I think about it but I will keep that to myself. Knowing MS bought a piece of them and use there stuff in MS Defrag still Disk Keeper man oh man if I can only express how I feel about it. I might be the only one with those thoughts though.

First off make sure file shareing is on both PC's. Now if you dont know where that is at going to Start Settings or Start Settings control panels. Go to networking etc etc right click Local Connection or something in that nature and go to properties. then you will see a dialog box. Now listen I dont have XP Client installed right now so I dont see it also I dont have themes so menus are a lot different. Once it is checked off. Go to the folder you want to share right click go to share this folder. Sorry for a glob of a paragraph but once you do that you know where to go my network places or what ever it is called. Did that help at all?
Call up IBM seriously let them know what is happening. Have you looked on IBM web site for lets say Internal Ethernet Card drivers? The lastest ones have you also called them to report this problem. They might say ship it in we will replace it. If you feel like there going to do that say other things are wrong with it hahaha just kidding man but seriously look on there web site and call them ASAP.

It's been a long time since I used Windows 9x systems. Hell I was on WinNT back in those days but I think if your on any of these systems it is time to upgrade big time stop waiting stop getting problems after problems.
There really is no different from Windows 98 to 2000 or XP. People say stuff but it's all BS. Now if you have software that you got custom made for you and you need Windows 98 fine. But otherwise everything else is the same dont be scared moving to Windows XP same stuff expect you dont have to restart the computer every day & every hour. You dont have to sit and watch your computer go to Blue Screen mode lol.
It's been about 5-6 years since the last 9x OS was made. Now 5 years in technology is like 40 years in human life. It's time do the move even MS stopped supporting those OS's expect I believe Windows ME. Anywho that is my two cents.

If your going to overclock now a days with 3.0ghz processors it's pointless how is it going to benefit you. Your "mind" thinks your computer is faster also your going to see maybe 3 FPS more and see a speed different of 10 Nano Seconds. Now if you want to beat your record and brag to friends and look cool then thats fine with me. But really depends on the speed of everything else as well as your brain thinking it is faster. Oh yeah the Bus too.
One more thing you should add and that would be Disk Keeper also has that type of werid bug using 100% CPU usage without really you knowing about just a tip :)

Seriously there can be like 1 million didn't reasons why. If your getting packet loss and/or a weak signal the first thing I would do before blaming your computer and yourself. I call up your DSL provider and see what is going on could be a weak signal or could lead your DSl modem to somehow shut off IE. Depends call up your DSL provider and see if they see any problems on your system.
If you can I would highly recommand you to upgrade to a better OS like Windows XP Pro so far with friends and all I put them all on WinXP Pro I see too many strange annoying problems on WinXP Home. Those are just my two cents.
Yep I know haha not yet but I am doing some hardcore batch programming. So far I am designing this program like a RISK process where the batch file runs a set of commands once it is finished it kills it's self and another batch file pickups the slack. That way it never crashes. I been playing with a lot of stuff at work learning a little bit of SQl/Oracle so databases kinda of getting the hold down on there power and what they can do.
But for the programming side I am learning slowly and I think maybe this year I will pick up the basics of it. But right now I dont know jack about programming in general expect cool little batch scrpits that page my pager then something is up. Those are my two cents I will be back talking more about programming this coming up week.
I will agree with you on the system repair I dont know why everybody doesn't have Drive Image or Norton Ghost on there PC I do understand some of them are complex. Just giving you the support I can from what I heard.
Try a bunch of things last step would be what I said really. If you do backups and other type of backups then reformating really is the best bet to solve all problems and you get fun fun experience doing it ha.
When I get home from work we will discuss that the first time it's always the weridest and the hardest but since it is a MS product all you really do is say next next next next and your done.
Before doing make sure you have a backbone to help you out someone there or over the phone. I will walk you through it as much as possible. If you really need help I have no problem calling you and walking you through it.
