It wont boot on that machine. XP doesnt like SATA, especially SATA optical drives. Try slipstreaming his chipset drivers into the cd image using Nlite, then it *should* work. Alternatively, you may have some success by changing it to IDE Emulation mode in the BIOS.
i guess the "short" of it would be i want to by-pass the save-file-dialog (so the user is not involved) and save to a pre-determined folder
most lilely not possible. the web browser is supposed to be sandboxed and allowing a site access to any path on disk without …
t seems, you must be sold on the SUSE Linux distribution. From Visual Studio, you create your applications as SUSE rpm packages. I think that the tools should be distribution agnostic to appeal to a wider audience
You could turn them into DPkg .deb packages with Alien for example. And …

Basically the registry stores data for users programs and the OS. Everything from options, to file associations. In comparison, UNIX-like systems use text-files instead of one centralized registry. Generally, programs should tidy up after themselves, but often they dont. Most "registry cleaners" are a scam and just break things. The …

Its just buffering. Your internet connection isnt fast enough to stream in real-time so wait for it (the red bar) to load most of the way before starting to watch.

The Official MS C#.NET compiler is not distributed as a separate entity yet. You will need to download the .NET SDK which contains a number of compilers, libaries, saples and documentation (free download). Its a cut down command-line version of the visual studio one and is quite lightweight. I dont …

Yeah i had that on XP before, but only ever in a corporate (loading roaming profiles from server over a network) setting. It meant our profile had become corrupted. Not really any way to fix it.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy the site. P.S you know you can link an access frontend (forms, reports etc...) to an MS-SQL backend (tables, queries) ?

C is designed with the assumption that if the the programmer does something, however strange it seems, it is because he means to do it.

Yep, the reason not all processors (annoyingly the core-duo in my laptop cant but the old P4 in my desktop can....) support the "mode" is because they have H/W virtualisation support. This is also required for Hyper-V on windows server (which i guess is what MS based xp mode off …

Modify the method to be like this
protected override void Draw(GameTime gameTime) { // TODO: Add your drawing code here Color backgroundColor; backgroundColor = new Color(0, 0, 0); GraphicsDevice.Clear(backgroundColor); base.Draw(gameTime); }
The error was exactly correct. you were trying to use backgroundColor's clear method before it has been …

Yes, crunchie is correct. You can use any card with the PCI Express socket, you just cant do SLI on an AMD motherbaord, or crossfire on an Nvidia one. Ive got an geforce on an intel chipset myself. And its not stupid question, indeed, its a very common one.

LISTEN. You really dont seem to understand the point of VMWare... VMware emulates a fake computer. When you make a virtual machine in it, you are asked to make a virtual drive. This is a file on your real drive (usually a massive file in your /my documents/ somewhere. When …

Um, what?????????? Obviously you cant create anything apart from executable C++ programs in Visual C++ Express! To make ASP.NET (web) applications, you need Visual Web Developer instead. ASP.NET only has out of the box support for C#, VB.NET, JavaScript If this really is what you intend to do: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/mcpp/helloworldmc.aspx but …

More annoyingly, its like that for mods. I like to get like 10-20 spam threads all up in one go and delete them all, but i cant, because when you infract someone, it makes a thread, and sends a PM, incurring a wait. grrrrrrrrrr. have mentioned this to dani before.

You cant change them back, that info is lost, but you can stop it happening in future. That drive is probably formatted as FAT or FAT32. FAT was designed for DOS and used on Win9x, so like them, it doesnt support long-filenames. Most drives ship like this though, as it …
