For first person shooters you need a 128mb graphics card (preferably 256) and 1/2 gig of ram (1gb is good, 2gb is better) and a cpu of 3ghz.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Those hybrids are a lie. The CO2 put out generating the power for it is in most cases from coal which is worse than burning gasoline.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

I was much the same (i grew up on dos and windows 3.1)

Its a good idea to start learning CSS while you are learning HTML. CSS isnt all that hard although it may look like it.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Sorry i just kinda assumed you know what that meant or else I would have provided an explaination. ;)

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Also, for now use a text editor like notepad. Dont use WYSIWIG editors or you wont learn

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

I got a maxtor 350gb external usb hdd (all in one, not an enclosure) for about $150

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Parity/Non parity?
Buffered/ Unbuffered?

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

SATA and IDE are types of connections used inside a PC.

An enclosure takes a regular SATA/IDE disk and allows you to connect it using USB. Thats all an enclosure really is, a device that houses your drive, allows for easy USB connection and converts home power to the sort the drive would expect if it were actually inside a PC

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Dells are very particular. You have to use the exact speed.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

sorry it should be sfc (space) /scannow

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

ours is like 94 - 99 pence per gallon (thats about $1.90ish)

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

It doesnt always matter. Its just how they are made up.

e.g some "512mb" stiks are really four 128mb black chips whereas others are made up of eight 64mb black chips.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Yes, .MSI files are windows installer files. Sounds like your windows installer is broken or corrupted. Try going to run and typing

sfc/scannow

. You will need your XP CD. The process is silent. Just leave it until it completes and reboot.

Can you describe the problem in more detail.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

If you want a good editor that closes your tags and higlights your syntax take a look at Aptana (windows)

It is against the terms of thier licence to remove that copyright notice, i think.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

we learnt that lesson. in ww1 the british used gas against the germans (the germans were doing it too) but the wind blew it back at our own troops. Maybe hitler kept the gas in case ww2 turned into trench warfare

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

id personally have thaught of it as an IT recruitment company. Recruitment is what i associate the word shark with

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

in ww1, wasnt his life saved by a jew rather ironically?

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

hitler built a lot of cool things. he would have left quite a legacy for germany had he not spoilt it with the genocide and war

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

yes, there are way to many exploits

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

not getting sp2 is a bad idea

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Winlogon may have been replaced by a false one (virus). You can check it matches the one on the windows cd (you will need your cd) by going to run and typing

sfc /scannow

. This process is silent. Reboot it finishes and see if the problem still occurs.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Yes, in most cases the onyl differences between the pro and free versions are features such as Network Scanning (as is the case with avg)

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Mostly straight but mot always. Its a large motorway system constructed mainly under Hitler's rule and was one of the first motorways in the world.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

I have used AVG free on all my pcs since about 2000. It has caught every virus they have ever had and managed to heal them just as well as any commercial offering.

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

and while you are at it, grab the platform sdk (enables you to make non .net apps)

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

it means you have better control and are less likely to skid. id say that being less likely to skid would make you much safer at high speeds?

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

Here, the speed limit is 55... and I usually go around 65 - 70. (But of course, I have a good lookout at the same time...) ;)

55?

you should so come over here. Its 30 in resedential areas and like 70 (most people do 75-80 though and just slow down for the cameras) on the motorway (speed limit is allegely 100 on the german autobahn ;) )

jbennet 1,618 Most Valuable Poster Team Colleague Featured Poster

There is a "northwind traders" sample database somewhere in the office directory that you can play around with.

Here is a (very very basic) access tutorial to get you started:
