smimming can be fun but personally i prefer underwater-basket-weaving to smimming.

sometimes when the USB bus is saturated that message can appear as well. it can also appear if there is not enough power going to the USB device you plug in. did you plug the device into a USB port directly on the motherboard (backplate) or it is plugged in through an extension cord or USB hub?

yes, very entertaining to watch. a friend of mine is a starcraft champion and one of the top SC players in the world, the way he plays just scares me.

try running this 3Dmark benchmark on it, not for the sake of a score but to see if it can even run. if it fails or locks up you should call your PC manufacturer for a video card replacement. if it runs through the bench sequence then there may be some other issue with your game installation, OS installation or video drivers.

leave all of the default settings on 3Dmark06 and just run the benchmark. this is a free download, let me know what you find.

well i use my xbox 360 mainly as a media center extender. i view a console as an optional component in my home's media ecosystem.

agreed vaultdweller123, PC gaming is superior to consoles, especially in the following genres:
FPS, MMO RPG, SIM, flight SIM, driving SIM, strategy... pretty much most genres. I'll give consoles a slight edge in multi-player sports games and rhythm games (like guitar hero, dance revolution and such), and draw for arcade-style fighting games like street fighter.

LMAO, apparently you are a pirate...

try several things like...
1) remove your video card, blow air into the PCI-E slot, make sure all contacts on the card are clean and re-seat it.
2) check the running temperature of your card. nvision should have a setting that will show you that. temp should be below 100 C. did you modify or OC the card?
3) see if you can get another video card, even an older one to try and at least start a 3D game with, it may be a bad video card.

let's rule out bad memory. remove all of your memory sticks then try running with only 1 stick at a time until you find the bad memory stick. if you cannot find a bad memory stick it could be a badly installed processor heatsink/fan which is causing your system in overheat in moments or a bad video card or motherboard. memory is often the easiest thing to test. let us know what you find.

yikes, i didn't realized they are in legal trouble. my friend ancient dragon is right, while file-sharing clients are not illegal, unauthorized copying and sharing or content is... that's not to say that i'm assuming you are downloading anything illegal. many big name vendors make their software, files and drivers available via torrents. uTorrent is pretty popular and reliable.

this stuff has been possible and within the reach of "evil doers" for years, this is just easier for us common people to use now

have you tried re-installing your OS? my gut says you might have bad memory. try removing all of the RAM, then install and run it with 1 stick of RAM at a time...

what is your budget?

good idea getting an inexpensive recon from ebay or the likes. there are plenty of 2 year old PCs out there that can still handle some pretty decent gaming titles.

what's not to believe?
