Just clarifying, you can't get beyond the login screen right? Problem may be due to a virus. CAn you access the bios and did you hear a beep sequence?

Have you try searching Texas Industries website for the software. The huawei modem required a software to work so when you change your OS from windows xp to windows 7 a new software to use the modem is required. YOu have to find out who is the software developer for your modem. It can be huawei or T.I. Try going to their websites and search. Best of luck.

Problem might be a power supply error or a faulty motherboard. Check the Cd drive and the CPU fan to see whether these parts cause the problem. It can be any bad components, you can test it out by switching parts and replacing it with a spare one from another laptop to see whether the part works all the way.

Have you change the keyboard settings. Try updating all drivers first and connect your laptop using a usb keyboard and see whether anything happens. If nothing happen that mean somethings is wrong with your built in keyboard. Post back your findings?

YOu can use truecrypt or other softwares to password encrypt your files or folders.

Can you get onto the internet and download files or apps and confirm whether it is a networking issue. If nothing happens, somethings is wrong with the application. I need to know the name of the application?

If you had seen apple website, the mac osx lion will be pretty much like an ipad. It has a launch pad and a few new features. You can also check out the new features here. Basically the rest of the features are just fixing bugs problem and a few updates.
