I had an error with Windows XP, it kept "checking the disk for errors," and then aftward the bios prompted my to start either "normally," in "safe mode," etc, and it did this every time I rebooted.

So I reinstalled Windows XP on the same partition, and I was wondering if there is a way to retrieve the data from the old partition, so I can delete it.

Thanks in advance.

Reinstalling Windows should not remove other data. If it did, it means that Windows reformatted the hard drive because it was unreadable.
