I tried toying around with Linux. It didn't work quite right. When I reinstalled Windows XP Pro, I was stuck in 640X480 resolution. I checked device manager and there were big yellow question marks and one of them was listed as VGA video controller.

1)What does this mean?
2)How can I fix it?

Linux said that I had an Intel 865 Video Card with an i810 chipset, if that is the correct terminology. Could someone please comment?

I suspect that is an onboard video controller.
Do you have the CD that came with the motherboard, it should have the video drivers you need to fix the problem.

Look for 865XP55.exe (Assuming XP) Those should work for the 845 and 865 chipsets.

Microstar and many others should have those available for you.
Here is a link that should get you going...
