Can Someone tel me What Ripping an DVD means? Does it mean
to extract movies from the DVD or Ripping means jus copying the DVD
to hard disk but that ripping a DVD saves space rather than jus copying? What kinda softwares RIP a DVD? Also what does ripping mean in the case of Audio files?

Hello ,ripping means to remove files from a cd or dvd to harddrive for burning .
Any dvd burning software will rip a disk to the harddrive before burning it to a disk .you can also ripp to harddrive for storage ,windows media player will ripp songs from music cd and save them to the hdd,then you can do as you please with them .
