Deduplication used to be an exclusive tool of the large enterprise, with an imposing cost, a daunting learning curve, and – with file-only deduplication – a limited ability to use deduplicated data to restore a failed machine. Until now, deduplication has been too expensive to implement in any but the …

So you're suggesting that if someone posts in the c++ forum, that they not tag their thread c++ because that is automatically assumed, and this way the tag cloud within the c++ forum can focus around different c++-related things instead of just the word c++ itself ... ????

As someone who runs a site that gets the majority of its traffic to interioir pages from the search engines, I have discovered that site usability, navigation, and clear calls to action are perhaps just as important as the content itself, when it comes to getting the search engine visitor …

You just posted the same link that sam09 did? Also, sam09 is talking about the same content under multiple URLs on the same page. Duplicate content is usually revolving around the same article or content across multiple websites (aka plagiarism).

Please post in the C forum with what you've tried so far, and what specifically isn't working, and we'll help you. We won't do your school assignments for you though! But we're here to help :)

Okay, I'll try it. I'll see if I can come up with a button that mimics what it says in the editor watermark so newbies can associate the two. Oh, also, can you take a screenshot for me of the editor page of a forum that does this? Thanks!

I am fine with it, because that's actually what RSS feeds exist for. Check out the link in the footer of the page for some creative parameters that can be passed into RSS feeds.

Correction - Buying and selling links for the purpose of increasing your PR is a violation of Google's guidelines. You should buy links on pages when the subject is relevant, the audience is your site's target audience, and the link is prominent enough on the page to generate enough traffic …

I've never heard of it, although I am familiar with quite a few PPC management tools. Personally I like to remain in house and use Google's downloadable AdWords Editor software.

I'd really think that their design is WAY too generic to be patented. Must be why deliberation on whether or not to grant the patent took 5 years.

I'm not so sure it's people using more keywords as it is people using more natural language search. Me thinks, anyways :)

This ended up being a bug. I haven't yet had a chance to go over the new functionality of the code tags with everyone yet, but basically they are smart enough to know that if you're trying to use bbcode, don't force a language.

Lots of bugs are to be expected right now. Nearly all of the code has changed :) Salem, your bug is low priority right now because you're seeing notices about reported posts that you reported yourself (hence you're the thread starter). :)

I just want to post my frustration and sheer contempt for the new AdWords interface. It's making it very difficult for me to get anything accomplished quickly, and is the reason I am still at the office right now. So, without further ado, dare I say ... GRR.

Your favorite forums are dynamically generated based on where you post. It only selects the top X forums you post in though, so a forum with just one post will eventually fall off the radar. If you link me to the thread I can remove the "moved" redirection shadow, and …
