After the movielad fiasco, non-moderators have a time limit set on how long they have to edit their blog entries, similar to the forums, so not everyone has the ability to go back to far previous entries. However, everyone can add tags from now forward.

It needs focus. It needs direction. :) You need a catch ... what is going to make all of these people want to talk to each other. They have to have SOMETHING in common, whether it's their location, their interests, their hobbies, their ... well, you get the idea.

I would like to apologize to everyone. I have been working in the background on a test database getting ready to upgrade to vBulletin 3.6. However, in doing so, I accidentally overwrote the live database instead of the test database. Unfortunately, we lost 5 hours of database updates. I'm VERY …

I am one who puts a LOT more weight on user usability than SEO. If you tailor every single aspect of your site with the user in mind, SEO just sorta falls into place. After all, the search engines are actually tailored to best perform on sites tailored for users …

If Google is getting you conversions, stay with them. Try lowering your cost per click. Overture has a $0.10 min cost / click while Google has a $0.05 minimum. If that still doesn't work, pay per click might just not be best for your business.

I coded the feature myself for DaniWeb. I'm not sure if it currently exists as a mod or a hack for any forum system out there. If you use the vBulletin forum system, give www.vbulletin.org a try and if you use phpBB give www.phpbbhacks.com a go

Is it just me or is the fact that all publishers need to run the Burst! survey incredibly annoying? It is, to be honest, the primary reason why I don't use Burst ... I find that it is not done tactfully at all and is very unprofessional looking.

Sign up for the Google Sitemap tool. Even if you don't use the sitemap, itself, it gives an overview of spidering patterns on your site.

I can't really answer your first question. I don't think anyone who doesn't work for Google really does know the answer. It's all trial and error, and Google constantly changes their algorithm. To answer your second question, it has been said for quite some time that a PR0 backlink can …
