Re: I used a really old version of AddWeb once. Been there, done that. Not worth it. Note that the best way to get indexed nowadays is via backlinks - you WILL be picked up ;)
Re: Chargebacks. Freezing accounts. Taking months to get accounts reinstated. Terrible customer service. But, then again, I'm a PayPal user because it's quick and easy. What is PayPal Pro?
Re: It's related to an IE bug where the drop down menu would go behind the search dropdown. The only way to fix it was to make it hide itself. (Yes, I know you guys are using FireFox)
Re: Hi Mickey :) Welcome to DaniWeb! Good luck with your troublesome computer.
Re: Remember that AOL's proxy server converts all images to it's crappy compressed .ART format, even when using an external web browser. Often, external web browsers show images crappier than the AOL built-in software, because AOL's browser is "optimized" to show .ART images.
What does everyone think of the bubble tooltips I implemented on the thread listing pages? Yay or nay? :) Helpful or intrusive?
Re: Determining the featured members for each forum is a server intensive process. Therefore, as much information about each user (including online status) is retrieved from a cache.

Re: Have you considered using a third party PHP parser? I know this isn't a solution to your problem, but I use MagpieRSS PHP parser and I absolutely love it.
Re: Aside from the fact that it's in our forum rules: [i] We strive to be a community geared towards the professional. We strongly encourage all posts to be in full-sentence English. Please do not use "leet" speak or "chatroom" speak. Additionally, use [bbcode] only when it is necessary to the …

Re: Find the encrypted value of your password string and do $encrypted_password = '**********'; Then, do a check against md5($entered_password) == $encrypted_password. This way, if someone gains FTP access, or another user on your server, won't know what your password is.
Re: Welcome to DaniWeb :) We're a global community with people from all over the world who have English as a second language. Don't worry :)
Re: We're upgrading to a new version of vBulletin within the next day or so. Once the massive upgrade is complete, and big bugs are fixed, things like this will be looked into. In the meantime, try switching between the standard and advanced wysiwyg editors.
Re: Eeek ... sorry, I don't know about your keyboard problem but I suspect you'll get better responses by posting in our [URL="http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/forum7.html"]Hardware [/URL]forum. Welcome to DaniWeb!
Re: Thank you. Will add it to my list of things to look into. However, I did not write the syntax highlighter. I'm using an existing open source class.
Re: Yes although I suspect there also is some caching that comes into play somewhere.
Re: Are these powertoys compatible with Windows XP x64 edition?
Re: The reason you have not yet been removed is because the entire moderation team has been currently deliberating behind the scenes about how to rectify the situation and make you excited about DaniWeb again. Additionally, Davey, who runs the contests, hasn't logged into DaniWeb yesterday or today (so far). I …
Re: Hi, welcome to DaniWeb. There are two different ways to sell advertising. When advertising is sold on a CPM basis, that is cost per thousand impressions, and there is a fixed rate for every 1,000 impressions. When advertising is sold on a CPC basis, that is cost per click, and …
Re: Hi Peter. Welcome ... what makes DaniWeb unique is that you can participate in one community for web design help, javascript help, and help with your electrical engineering degree.
For awhile, I chose to use ValueClick banners as an alternative to AdSense, when AdSense was just showing PSAs. I created a file called valueclick.html and all I put on it was the ValueClick javascript code - and I gave it the page title: ValueClick - AdSense Alternative. I then …
Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Lots of new members daily! Lots of members visiting daily! Posts per day is the same as it was when we had 10% the number of members. No growth at all.
Re: How much ram do you have in the omputer? More than 4 gigs would be a reason why you have to go with Windows XP x64 edition instead of Windows 2000.

Re: You can customize the CSS from within the ACP and you can customize the HTML templates by editing the .tpl files.
Re: I agree - the first one. It's less cluttered :)
Re: I don't think this can be done with just plain ol' AIM. It might be able to be done with a Windows registry hack. Otherwise, try one of those AIM add-ons such as DeadAIM or the others that have tabbed conversations ;) that work like Mozilla's tabbed browsing. New messages …

Re: Blogs can only be edited up to a half hour after initially being posted, the same as on the forums. However, if you would like to add a signature, please do so from within your member control panel. Your sig will then be added to the bottom of all of …
Re: Don't put any faith in alexa rankings ... they're so inaccurate and unpredictable. However, I have to say that I've experienced the same thing. Site traffic has been a yo-yo, alexa rankings have been relatively stable.
Re: Well, suppose you had an HTML table ... you would just tell one row to be one color and the next row to be a different color. Are you talking more along the lines of a dynamic script that generates content on-the-fly?
OK ... that was just absolutely ridiculous. I made a small change to a file and for some crazy reason the bitfields got corrupted and DaniWeb no longer had the permissions settings for any of the CMS (blogs, tutorials, etc) features. So pages were throwing back database errors left and …
Re: It is just for storage. However, I am not so sure you can stick a computer drive in there. Pretty doubtful of that, actually. Instead, there are two options ... buy a replacement XBOX360 hdd for roughly $100 for buy an XBOX360 memory card for roughly $30. Prices are from … |
