Hey, I'm just wondering as to what everyones avg battery life is for their notebooks, and what their specs are. Personally, my battery life sucks...I unplug it and walk upstairs, and its down about 3-4%...its almost pointless as a notebook...so is there any way to improve battery life? Any tips/suggestions …

[QUOTE=cscgal]Please be careful when dusting off the interior of your computer. I mistakingly dusted out the inside of my machine with a mini electronic vacuum. The kind that is typically used to clean the dust under the keys of a keyboard or other electronics. Unfortunately, I ended up killing one …

Being a crazy OCer myself...its more for the fun of seeing how high you can get your processor...or how stable you can get it. I watercooled my PC for stability issues...and I love it. Though others wouldn't notice much of a difference, when you get to be really into it, …

SCREW PENTIUM!!!! unless your pockets are bulging with money, those P4s are just way to overpriced. your paying for a name, not performance. dont get me wrong, p4s do perform, and they have their benifits, but for the same price you can get a much better AMD...(not including the AMD …

crossover cables work great...but so do wireless (overnight...hehe) Or find someone with an external HD...those are the best paired with USB2.0 and you'll have your files over in no time.

Ok, I just saw this thread...so I figured I would get some input from you all. In one year, I am going to begin college, and the college which I plan to attend, has a computer science major option, and since computers are my life, and I've always planned on …

Ok, heres my setup. I've got to restrict a computer in the office that I work at to only perticular sites...but I really can't think of a program that does that. So could someone recommend to me a prog that does that the best please? Thanks:cheesy:

Remember, just because it says 400W...doesn't mean its any better than the brandname (antec...enermax....etc) 300W...not all powersupplies are up to par. Seriously, don't slack on your PSU...you'll regret it in the end, and so will your componants. Stick to brandnames, and shop around, youll get a good deal, and you'll …

you shouldn't have to mess with the ports on the router to get your DL program to work. It should make no difference whether or not you are in the router or not. at least not that noticeable of a difference. Check your router settings, and make sure your cables …

I just bought my laptop, and if I have any advice, its that you MUST configure the system online, rather than buying for a store. I saved almost $400+ on mine, with the same features (give or take a few minor ones) Its an HP, P4 3.2Ghz HT, ATi 9600XT …

Well if you're looking for expensive, which you are (with an X800XT Platinum), then a P4 system (HT) is your best bet. Personally, IMO, you can get a GREAT system going with an athlon XP, with amazingly stable mobo's from ABIT. I'm gonna throw out a system here, you can …

The system itself isn't bad...the mobo however might give you some problems. Like said before, your much better off getting a new Mobo/processor, and OC'ing with that, because pre-built comps just don't really accomidate overclocking like you would think. Basicly, those systems (HP, Compaq, Dell, etc.) come built to run …

MS is constantly updating XP so if you want the latest updates, then you are forced to get SP2...Granted the initial version wasn't so good, eventually it will even out. Without SP2, you won't be getting anymore updates, but thats your choice to make.

Where did you read this? I've never heard of this...I know they run slower, but they are a 64bit processor as opposed to its XP sister. I'll have to look into this...

Personally, the Microsoft Wireless intellimouse explorer works the best. I use the logitech MX700 for my gaming computer, but as far as the laptop goes, this works the best. Small wireless transmiter...good battery life...and no reason for a charging hub or AC power (as with the MX700).

Hmmm, never had this problem, but I have had other problems with video capture devices/drivers. Is S-Video avaliable to capture the video from? if so, try that...otherwise possibly check with ATi to see if there are any fixes on their site, because mine was an ATi card as well.
