Think of it as free publicity, without it your entry would not appear at all in the Google results by the looks of it. At least they are not ripping off your content and republishing it wholesale without any mantion of the original source. They are recommending your entry to others, publishing a short excerpt by way of preview with a link to the original in full.

Far from stealing traffic, I would be more inclined to think of this as an opportunity to drive traffic to you.

Bizarre. Becuase you need to be logged on to post, and this has posted OK.

Very happily married here, to my soulmate, lover and best friend all wrapped up in one gorgeous former classical Russian ballerina.

We have been married for 12 years now, and I am as happy as I was back then. Probably happier actually, as we have a couple of smashing kids to add into the family mix.

My first marriage also produced two kids, now both grown up (20 and 18) but was something of a youthful mistake I fear.

She left me when I came out of hospital, paralysed and confined to a large electric wheelchair, following nearly a year recovering from viral encephalitis. I don't blame her, I was not the same man she married in many different ways. Not least my identity and personality had changed, I was a totally different chap and she couldn't hack it.

Cannot say how I would have reacted if it had been the other way around. But it was hard at the time, what with losing my job, home, dignity, marriage and kids all at the same time - not to mention my mobility.

Funnily enough Yvonne, my second wife, and I met while I was in the wheelchair - albeit a lightweight carbon fibre model by this time as I had regained the use of my arms by then and was actually quite 'fit' as long as you only looked at my upper body :)

She must have really loved 'me' as she left her …

Also, this topic is just for saying hi, not asking for help. I suggest you go to the forum which covers whatever programming language you are working in and ask there - but don't expect DaniWeb members to simply do your homework/coursework for you without showing some effort yourself...

I am inclined to think 'what is the point?' and 'why don't they stick to what they do best?' to be honest.

The fact that a phone has Google branding makes not one jot of difference to me, I can search Google from my current mobile phone perfectly adequately, thanks. :)

The Scotland one was more of a working holiday, so after the 12 hour drive I ended up spending 5 or 6 hours a day working on my book. The book is a study of identity in the digital age, so I guess that really counts as geek activity :)

When not being a geek, I will:

play football with my son
play games with my daughter
go for walks in the countryside with my wife
get tattooed
listen to music
read
drive
add to my collection of vintage video games

Darn, I may have lapsed back into geekdom with that last one!
