So I'm trying to set up the printing permissions on my dorm printer. I want it shared, but I want to be able to restrict who can print.

So the obvoius thing to do would be to right click the printer and go to Properties and, as the msft website suggests, operate under the "Securities" tab to set all my permissions.

I have no securities tab.

wtf?

any suggestions?

just to be clear. I'm operating on an IBM T43 with Win XP Pro.

I guess i'm looking for a solution to gain back my long lost securities tab, or another quick/easy way to manage my printer.

problem solved by my own research. Need to have simple file sharing disabled.
