EDIT: I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2, with all of the latest updates.

Usually, when in Windows Explorer, if you click TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS... you are presented with the following window:

But for some unknown reason, I now get this window instead and cannot change the folder settings:

Any ideas as to why this has changed, and what can be done to fix it?

Cheers.

No.

But the easiest way to remedy that would be to do a system restore as far back possible as you can.

Start > all programs >accessories > system tools > system restore

Follow the instructions it is fairly straight forward.

I don't use System Restore :) Would a "Repair Install" do the trick?
