Re: I'm signed up for Weekly notification and once a week I get an influx of subscriptions coming in all at once. I guess that's the way it's supposed to work. I will change myself to Instant notification and see if it works.
Re: www.phpbbhacks.com is the official unofficial directory of phpBB hacks.
Re: To HTML encode a string is to convert the " to " and < to < and > to > and & to & and you get the idea :) Essentially it's just a simple find and replace of those few things.
I just so happened to have clicked into the Windows Task Manager and there, under the Users tab, is a second user with ID 2 ... Mcx1. Under the Session column it says EH-TCP#0. Who on earth is this second user on my computer??
Re: Huh?? What does this have to do with running online communities?
Re: I have experience with YaBB Perl and YaBB SE, of which SMF originated (although I've never used SMF). I really didn't like either at all, and I definitely prefer phpBB. I think phpBB is much more cleanly coded and has a much better templating system.
Re: It's not possible to do this with JavaScript because you would need some sort of database to keep track of how many visitors there are, which can only be done with a server-side programming language. We do it with PHP and MySQL. Each time a page is accessed, a record …
Re: I think anything is possible if you set your mind to it. More specifically, anyone can be the next Google with a single good idea and a lot of determination. With that said ... do you have a good idea that's never been done before that will definitely work? If …
Re: Unfortunately you learned this the hard way ... but that's basically the gist of it with so-called "bulk traffic reseller" companies.
Re: Huh? Isn't Barat saying that Google won't penalize for duplicate pages within a domain, but if you are copying the exact same tutorial as 200 other sites out there, only the original will rank well?
Re: I keep noticing StumbleUpon as a referer to our blog entries but hadn't heard of it before then. What is it exactly? Like a mini-Digg?
Re: I almost thought I got ya on this one until the last sentence where you said "and Dani" :)
Re: Sorry it took me an extra day to sort out your account. Would you like me to merge your two usernames?
Re: What thread are you talking about? Huh? Confused? Did someone hit "new thread" instead of "post reply"?
Re: Posting HTML code within forum posts is disabled here just as it does on nearly all other forums. The simple answer is that people can use malicious JavaScript code, they can forget to close a </b> tag which might screw up the rest of the site design, and so forth. …
Re: Set a title tag up to be no more than a couple of words that make cohesive sense - not a list of keywords. It should include your keywords in them, most def, but not to the point where it looks like you're just keyword stuffing.
Re: Same content in a different language is not the same content :) You would only do this if you really do have a need to target users of multiple languages. I would recommend doing a 301 redirect from all pages of the old domain to the new domain. This can …
Re: Awesomely efficient code you got there! Very sleek.
Re: Since you already have mod-rewritten links, it isn't worth it to make the change and lose all of the pages you have indexed in the search engines - even with 301 redirects. I wouldn't do it. Sorry.
I am trying to run the command: exec("cat ..........", $output, $var); Basically, cat "any file" returns no contents in $output, and returns 0 in $var. exec("whoami"); returns "apache" in $output and 0 in $var. Any ideas?
Re: That's what I was about to ask. Google is a search engine in which pages are indexed so that information can be gathered about the page contents to be delivered in the SERPS when someone uses the search engine.
Re: I wish it was that easy! There isn't really one formula ... it depends on so many different factors such as the popularity and weight of the sites linking to you, your particular industry, your competitors, keywords on the pages linking to you, etc etc. In fact, it's very important …
Re: It's over six years old now, but here is the photo that my avatar is from.
Re: What do you mean by the passwords?
Re: For such situations, use the "Flag Bad Post" link which is available in every member's post.
After the whole newsletter drama, I made a typo in my code and threw the Apache server into an infinite loop. About 10 minutes of downtime. So sorry. I need more sleep it seems.
Re: You're probably not going to like my answer, but what about emailing Google with your question? Not so much as whining but a simple inquiry where you are just looking for feedback and not for them to do anything about it for you (because that would come off as whining): …
Re: Back to your original idea, Dan, do you think Microsoft's version of java will catch on? it's just the jre they're implementing, right? I probably sound like a moron about now but it **is** the "jre", right? Isn't that the environment thingie that java uses so that it can be …
Re: We used to have a rather small entry that was created by Gary and was there for over a year. Then it got screwed up somehow and eventually deleted. Never bothered to recreate it as I got caught up in so much other stuff.
Re: You would need to convert the binary number to an integer first for that though, wouldn't you?

Re: A couple of years back I would have said to definitely send plain text emails. However, nowadays, HTML emails are supported by just about every email client out there. The only thing you have to worry about is some email clients block images from loading by default, but even these …
Re: I am going to go call Yolanda right now and tell her :) I'm actually kinda confused how it got there? The railing doesn't look tore up?
Re: Hi, We have been having HUGE problems with the digests, unfortunately, I've been working on it nonstop (literally) since Monday night. The last one is all screwed up? That's terrible as that means it's the last one that went through. You got three within the past 3 hours? I'm really …
Re: I'm going to buy it on February 1st :)
Re: Basically "even" means that they don't have enough reputation themselves to alter someone else's. However, I went ahead and gave you a little push towards a distinguished road.
Re: I tried replying to your IM but you had already signed off by the time I got to my computer. The mod team is well aware of the problem, but unfortunately, the more we grow, the more we get onto the radar of all of the big spammers out there. …
Re:
Texas has been UNUSALLY cold this winter, we normally don't break freezing before the end of January, and this year, we hit freezing in November! We even had 2 days of Snow if that isn't freaky enough, I think it is the first time in 10 years we had snow … |
