Re: Hey there. Long time no speak. It's still in the works ... yes, still. The latest news is that all of the bowling alley lanes got put in and all the flooring got put in. But it was done wrong (the wrong type of wood, where it wasn't going to …
Re: As you could imagine, the more targeted, the better. Two reasons: #1 Because words in your ad which are included in the user's search are in bold, so it draws a lot more attention to your ad. The CTR will also be astronomically higher when the ad is specifically what …

Re: I'm very confused by your question. Can you please provide an example of your specific code, what it currently does, and what you would like it to do.

Re: Windows Remote Desktop is very commonly used. The best example I can think of is someone at home needing access to their work computer and vice versa.
Re: You would need to use cookies and/or sessions along with a login form. The user would then log in and the script would determine what their permissions are. You could then use a series of conditionals within your script wrapped around various elements you want to appear differently depending upon …
Re:
Already have my order for Windows Vista Ultimate. I have 4 copies on the way for mid-december (yes, they are through OEM)
Is this what you're getting me for the holidays? I'm determined to figure it out even if it kills me :)
Re: All of this comes from a very angry and vocal minority who have been caught clicking on their own ads. But rest assured if that you make sure to follow their terms of service then there won't be a problem.
Re: The first step is to figure out how much you'll make off of a visitor coming in from Google AdWords. I highly recommend doing conversion tracking. If you always have a positive ROI, then the more you spend the more you make, and so there's no limit to how much …
I currently use Zend PHP Studio because I like it's syntax highlighting, its keyboard shortcuts, its autocomplete, and its integrated php documentation. What I don't like about it is the interface or the feel of the software. It feels like it's been written in Java - eww. Can anyone recommend … ![]()
Re: I don't have this problem at all. I tried copying/pasting from both Firefox and IE into Windows Notepad. Perhaps it's a problem with your editor? In the meantime, a workaround would be to click the Reply w/ Quote button and then copy the post contents from the editor window. Since …
Re: Yeah, I commented a couple of days ago about a change in the backlink count and number of pages indexed. Not sure what to make of it though. My PR toolbars appear consistant and I haven't really caught Googlebot spidering much lately.
Re: I think I know why :) You received an infraction in the past, didn't you? I was trying to get it to stop displaying old infractions.
Re: Hi there! Welcome to DaniWeb. Good luck with your career decision ... if you ask me, the IT world is great :)
With the very high end Mac Pros comparable in price to PCs with the same specs, why does anyone (and by anyone I mean people in the market for a new, high end machine) bother buying a new PC anymore? Similar price, same exact specs, and you could either get …
Re: Wow, what a relief! I was so afraid I would get lots of criticism about the missing forum descriptions and last thread info. Thank you for the positive comments and encouragement!
Re: Um ... yeah, that's readable. :( Perhaps you could repost your code using line breaks?

Re:
I try to make my code conform to no more than 80 characters per line. It seems that that may be near the chosen maximum number of characters before a horizontal scroller is used. In this particular example, the line is exactly 80 characters:
pppppppppppppppp0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Can the code box … | |
Re: I'm very confused - apparently I came to the thread too late after the weird coloring was fixed. Essentially joeprogrammer is correct in that color tags within
tags are ignored because that tag automatically colors code for you, hence its purpose.
Hi, I have always preferred IE over Firefox. Last night, I upgraded from IE6 to IE7. However, there are a couple of things I don't like about the design. Firstly, I don't like how the URL bar is at the very top, and the home, refresh, back, and forward buttons …
With over 3600 members and growing, I'm just curious how many of ya'll are original members who have stuck around through all the good and bad times? Who here has a user ID of 100 or less? 200?
Re: When I first got Windows 2000, this happened to me. It pissed me off for weeks until I realized how easy it was to fix. At any edge of the window, just double click. Double click again to bring it back to this "condensed" state. Believe it or not, it's …
Re: I would say use RSS feeds to syndicate new jobs being offered. Run a viral campaign where you can get websites targeted to your audience to syndicate these job offers. For example, a blog targeted to web developers might have a sidebar feature that shows some latest web development jobs …

Re: Hi, I'm afraid Joeprogrammer is correct. A lot of time, effort, and money went into DaniWeb's design, and it isn't something that there are any plans of releasing to the public, either free or for a fee.

Re: What ad scrolled across the screen? It's not supposed to do that! Can you take a screenshot next time you see it happen? Thanks!
Re: I consider links from blogs and forums good sources as well. If anything, they can only supplement your link building campaign, and they're viral, too!
Re: It looks as if they've correctly set these subdomains up to be supplemental results.

Re: The error you're seeing is a JavaScript error most likely caused by the dropdown navigation menu. However, I don't get that error message and my browser is telling me there aren't any script errors. So I don't know :-/ Does it happen all the time?
Christian blogged today about how the Intel macs can now legally run Windows ... check it out @ http://www.daniweb.com/blogs/entry509.html I'm stunned :) However, I'm still going to wait until Intel macs are available in towers before I get myself one of them.
Re: AFAIK, Windows will use RAM as much as it can before resorting to the pagefile. Shrinking the pagefile won't force it into using more RAM instead. It's just the way Windows works to always use some of the pagefile for I'm not sure what.

Re: To answer the second question ... it has to do with your industry, the keywords on each specific page of the site (and how much people are willing to bid on those keywords), and the click-thru rate of each of your ad spots. Remember, it's a violation of Google's terms … |
