Heya, I used your guide as a reference after encountering problems. Now I'm connecting just fine from my apple even copying files to and from, but it won't let me make or manipulate subfolders inside my share. Any ideas as to what is going wrong?

Have you tried holding down the Apple and X buttons when you power on? That is supposed to force it to load OS X.

Check System Preferences - Universal Access and make sure that the "Black on White" radio button is picked, instead of "White on Black".

I don't know about why it stopped working. If it was my system I would just count my blessings and download Firefox or something. If you're really attached to IE I'm sure someone here has a fix for you, hang in there . :)

If I knew a spammer... I would immediately post every personal piece of information about him on every site/blog/bathroom stall I could find. BAM problem solved. And really, I think it should come down to individuals doing their part. Why bring the Government into it? They only prove time and …

So where did the "hit" come in? Your article never mentioned a change in participation versus observation. Is it supposed to be a pun off the term 'hit' as in a website's access? I think it's a misleading title. According to your own figures, viewership has increased 668% on these …
The upgrade doesn't seem like a huge one, as all they're doing is putting 2 processors on the motherboard instead of 1.
Huh? The Mac Pro was dual-dual Xeon before now.

I came across this article at Appleinsider.com. http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1143 Lawsuits like that really make me unhappy. Honestly people! Every music store in the world organizes music by genre, artist, title, etc! And have done it for DECADES! How greedy and self-absorbed can people get? Suits like that make me ask myself …

Why is it OS X's fault? Maybe you should switch to Canon printers instead of Windows. Your printer is supported by 10.4 If OS X doesn't come with the drivers http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?dlc=en&lc=en&product=72886&lang=en&cc=us&os=219 try there. I'd definitely try reinstalling the drivers before switching to windows.

Erp.. Hmm Are you connecting the camera to the computer via USB? You have to use iLink(aka Firewire) for DV. I ran into the same problem one time with a sony camcorder I was playing around with. The USB port was real obvious, but the iLink port was a bit …

The PSP looks really slick, but I'm way too thrifty for that trendy gizmo. And I don't like how if you want a movie you have to buy the special disk. Can the PSP act as a "dvd" player and hook into the TV? Sony should at least have a …

I've been looking at processors for sale recently, and I've noticed a spec I don't understand, "Virtualization Technology Support." The answer is always Yes or No, but no explanation is given. Could someone please explain how Virtualization is supported by the CPU and what determines whether or not that CPU …

Wild shot in the dark, but you might check to see if the "Allow Supporting Programs" checkbox is marked under Finder & System in the Parental Controls portion of the Accounts preference pane. If it is checked, try changing it to unchecked.

You can try lowering the resolution on the screen to 640x480 before opening the video file. The screen will be fuzzier, but the video file shouldn't be. Then just set the resolution back to 1024x768 after the video. That trick may help out a bit.

Your Powerbook User's Guide has instructions for doing that. If you don't have it anymore, try Apple's Website.

Yeah, I'd assume it's something else too. In my experience slow performance was due to an errant process going haywire. Any particular application giving you problems? In the Applications/Utilities folder there's the Activity Monitor. You can view the running processes to see if any particular application is causing the problem. …

Yes you can. If it was 2001 it should have at least a G3 400 which I've personally used a Powerbook with a 400 MHz G3 and found it to be satisfactory...not thrilling, but ok. However, your memory is too low. I would get it at least up to 256 …

I have an idea. On the new machine create the same user and password combination you used on the original hard drive. That way the system will identify you as having proper credentials to view your old directories. I think that will work, let me know if it does please.

The easiest thing to do would be to get an external 2.5" hard drive enclosure that connects to another computer using USB 2.0 or Firewire. No Master/Slave settings then. You may be able to find one in town somewhere.
