depending on your new computer - you can install XP, it just may be a bigger process with drivers. Refer to the driver support of your computer model to see if there are in fact drivers for XP. if there isn't, it may still be possible using the internal hardwares vendors driver, but it is a deep process and you and the machine may become more involved than you would like to admit

try to plug in a different keyboard via usb. make sure all the drivers are up-to-date. run an antivirus. it could be alot of things, but more than likely you got something (dirt, drink, food) inside your keyboard that causes it to flip out and go ////////////////////////////// clean it or replace it would be my guess?

as far as i know, your signature is stored in outlook itself. so, im not sure what you are doing, but if you do a simple mailto:email@email.com?body=google? and outlook is your default email client for the system you are clicking the link on, whenever your new email window pops up, it should have your signature on the bottom

yeah but i dont want it to be mandatory - i want the associates to be able to choose if a repair is linked to another repair, per the customers request.

like, say i have a form that loads a list view. the list view contains all repairs for a customers ID that are not completed. each list view item has a check box, and there is a button that says link checked repairs. Clicking this stops all repairs from going to the contact customer status until all the linked repairs are completed, then they all go to the contact customer area.

but it has to be by choice.. maybe i can get permission to just do it for all of them regardless ill have to find out

but the problem is, the customer may or may not want all their repairs to be completed before they are contacted. they could also have the choose to lets say

i want my two watch repairs completed together, but you can call me anytime for my ring repair

the language is vb.net, but it is more of a mysql database question.

I have a table that holds customer repair information (where it is, whats going on, if it was completed, etc).

the table starts with a basic auto increment ID, the id is used to view the repair information associate with a customer_id (from customer table, not relative)

lets say a customer has two repairs in the system, and wants them put together and only called when both are complete.

what is the best method to link these repairs? (keep in mind he could have anywhere from say 1-10 repairs that they might want linked together)

example:
repair_id linked_to
1.001 2.001
2.001 1.001

should i create a seperate table that links the repair ids, or create a column called linked that holds the repair ids that it is linked to?

example:
linked_repairs
1.001, 2.001, 3.001

i am not exactly sure the best method to go about this, would like some input

imagin this, my companies ISP (fastest in area for some reason..) is so bad, that we pay 250$ /m for 12 by 1.5 mb speeds. We are on a business class, where using there outbound business server, and there spam software footprinted our phone number on our email signatures and disallowed us to send mail using a server we pay 250 monthly to have access to.

you can sort the data using mysql

examples would be

select * from table order by column_name DESC
select * from table order by column_name ASC

this will return sorted results way faster than if u wrote a manual sort in vb .net

as for a combobox, it has a build in sort property. simple enable it to true

you can test to see what the default timezone on the server is set with the PHP command ‘date_default_timezone_get’. That should tell you what your computer is assuming is the default timezone.

Open C:\xampp\php\php.ini file in your notepad text editor and look for this section:

if you are scared to death about your personal information being stolen on the computer, the best thing you can do is dont use it on the computer. there is always a risk - even if it makes it to the other side perfectly fine, think about how many times major companies have sent out letters and emails about there database being compromised.

No it doesn't. Why would you show states for which you don't have jobs? To make the user believe that you have a large database?
To show states regardless of their presence in the job table you can combine state and town names in a union query in which you pull all towns with states from the job table and all states which are not linked to the job table from the states table.

smantscheff said the same thing awhile back - but i didnt bother reading the entire post after i started reading why would you show states for whcih you dont have jobs.
