Ie -Spyware is not a spyware scan program ,it only an App that install 5000 sites to you restricted sites Settings in IE and The registry ,I will suggest you get both Spy-Bot and AD-Aware. and may I suggest SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster also .I use all of the above mentioned programs includinf IE-Spyadd,and have for the past few yrs ,with great success!

so i finally got it. what i did was i just kept running the uninstall. it would lock up every time and finally on the 5th time it made it through. i'm not sure what caused this. maybe because i have over 140 program installed and only 1.5 gb free on my hdd?

I dont see any thing that is bad or spyware.You have a lot of programs running[ the 04s'] that are either not necessary or are user choice .most are releated to the laptop.

1. Can you tell us what exact problems you are having? I don't see anything obviously "nasty" in your log.

2. You should move HijackThis into it's own separate folder. A folder like C:\HijackThis or C:\downloads\HijackThis will be fine.
HJT creates backup recovery files when it runs, and if you run it from your desktop folder , "My documents" folder, or some other such general folder (like "My Received Files", in your case) the backup files will be scattered all over the folder and possibly even accidentally deleted.

Actually the latest version of hijackthis will create a folder called Backups ,in the folder its ran from ,when you use it !.and then when you go to use the backup feature it will auto go to the backup folder and find the idem you want to put back . when you use it !
Still putting it in its own folder is a good suggestion ,just not the disaster it use to be if not in its own folder .

First thing you are running a outdated hijackthis .open hijack and go to configure ,and miss/tools and check for update,
The only thing i see out of place in you log is this.And I search the # and find no info on it ,that usually means it an unknown BHO as fixing it is suggested .

Make sure you have all browser and Windows explorer windows closed and have hijack fix this .

Yesssss...That was it. The problem was the windows update. I turned it off and never had the same problem again. From now on I will do the updates manually. Go into BIOS setup again, set 1st boot device to CD-ROM, and ensure all other boot devices are set to 'disabled'. With a bit of luck, that should restore your ability to boot from the CD. Use the setup routine to delete existing partitions, and then create a new one for the installation.

Be watchful, however. when the system reboots during the Windows installation, you will need to go back into BIOS setup and set 2nd boot device to HDD-0 before continuing.

If it were mine i would get a win98 bootdisk[www.boordisk.com] boot computer with the floppy in, and at the A:\ type in FDISK it will detect the drive, or tell you no fixed disk present. if you get into fdisk then it recognize the drive ,and then go to #3 and delete non dos partition if You Chose NTFS file system when you Tried to install Win XP, and then escape out of that and choose #1 to create new dos partition .then escape out and with the XP CD in Reboot Computer and See what happens !

This is not Firefox ,but is also more than just a skin of IE ,It has tab browing and some other features that IE doesnt have .

Sounds like a jumper setting on the back of the hardrives ,I they are on the dame ribbon cable ,the main drove may need to now be set to master with slave ,and the 2nd drive set to slave to work gether. If one is on the primary IDE channel and one on the Secondary IDE then they need to both be set to master .Or they both could be set to Cable Select

Yes this would be a fresh isntall of SP2 even onto a nonAMD system ive seen enough of those die, but there is a lot of features added into SP2 i dont like it takes away alot of my right to choose and being a technician it takes away alot of access and tricks i used to repair machines in windows im finding that im restoring alot more machines when before i could go in and repair the issues.

If you drag the window bigger with you mouse,[not maximize with the buttons ] and ALT and the X in the top right ,to exit ,should work ,it might not take affect till after a computer reboot but usually works for me.

i cant actually take off the heatsink, because of the metail rod holding the heatsink in, the fan ontop of the heatsink stops me being about to pull the rod out as it would normally, so its not posible to take it out of the comp without removing the fan first, thats why its such an annoyance, so wot i might do is get some kind of pliers and graple the screw and turn it that way, i might sumhow make the slots more defined like u said but its a risky thing being still inside the computer :(

The silver clip that is cliped to the CPU socket is what releases the heatsink and fan from the CPU ,then you use the silver rod to remove the CPU ,if you need to remove it .
That is unless you are dealing with a really old computer .

Givin that most of the F keys are used as windows hotkeys already ,and you could change the one from F1 to F11 ,i doubt if that is you problem .The only thing I can find that uses f12 is Word ,for save function,also I think this also would depend on what keyboard you are using ,just a standard one or one with a lot of built in extra functions.

Time to go over to this thread.and read the info at the top and post a hijackthis log and see whats going on .

its been A long time since i used getright ,but a search shows you could be right ,if this is the free version ,,The registered version isn't spyware if you don't install the Aureate/Radiate software.

Did you try uninstalling the unboard sound in device manager and rebooting reinstalling the drivers

download/update/run adaware, I saw it in the guy's profile above me, you got spyware.

Seems to run very slowly (speed of computer probably) even though she has lots of ram. Using McAfee VirusScanOnline and Personal Firewall Plus 'cause since 1990, I have never had a single good experience with Norton products.

In July I ran ie6sp2 and all other current updates IE6 would not install fully and since then, problems with Java - seems to be primarily games (my mom's computer, she only plays things like popcap single player) because I can access (at least some/most?) of Microsoft download sites - not sufficiently conversant in Java to know for sure - help & support doesn't work right when I really need it. Went through (several times) re-acquiring Java downloads. Java seems to be fine with Netscape (but very slow to load)

Just discovered no restore points (had to download a patch to fix date?) but that seems to be working again. Another problem she tells me but I've only seen once - cold start usually doesn't go beyond Windows ME screen, especially when off for long period/overnight. Warmstarts seem to be fine.

After ie5.5sp2 update, got blue screen: Call Computer Associates Stack exceeded by 256 bytes. (NOT A CLUE!) Have also seen once the “access violation in Vgx.dll message (but only once and it recovered by itself.)

Any suggestions? (Should I post this elsewhere? Should I just breakdown & buy her a new computer - which is generally cheaper than hiring …

How do I change the icons for the different users as displayed when I first power up XP?

Go to ,Start/control panel / users ,.click on a user name ,and click on change picture .and select one from the list or you can navagte to your mypictures folder[ or any other folder on you computer with picturs .] and use one from there .I think it only uses .JPEG ,or .GIF not sure on that .

If this is your computer , HP Computer I don't think you will be able to play that game with it, and don't think it will be upgradeable even !

If you purchased this cdrom game then it would tell you the system requirements on the jewel case ,Sims 2 is telling you that your computer doesn't have a good enough Video Card in you computer ,you options are to take it back or have you Computers video card upgraded ,in other words you would need to buy a new video card at a local computer store and have it install in you computer .thank

This is a variant of the BlazeFind spyware. According to blazefind.com website: First close all browser windows. Now go to your Windows Control Panel in Add/Remove Programs, close the Control Panel window if you can and remove 'IE SearchBar ' from the Add/Remove Programs window as well as 'Windows SA' if its present.
