You cannot uninstall Windows Media Player, just can turn off it.

It's not recommended to turn off Windows Media Player on your computer. but just for a brief period will be all right

sometime ,but only sometimes ,a restart is in order when you make a settings change ,so set it to boot at start up,shutdown and reboot windows right away .not saying it will work but doesn't cost anything to try it

once a program is installed you cant take parts of it to another computer ,try running malwarebytes , or superantivirus on there computers

win7 forums a lot of info on creating virtual pc /virtual machine use the search to find info if this is not the correct info ;i thing any computer you try to use the virtual machin on ill have to have virtual pc install on it ,not 100% sure how any of this works ,i do though have and use xp mode with win7

i have to disagree with you ,i went from winxp to win7 an there nothing wrong with it speed.i have it on multiple machines,that were built for xp ,and it works just as goo and fast as xp did on these computers

I did what y'all asked me to, and under c:\users\myname\favorites the only thinf there is that favorites bar.

the favorites bar folder in the picture ,does it open if you double click on it

right click on the top of the browser and check to add menu bar, click on the favorites it adds .your favorites should be in that folder ,go to start search and search for favorites and see if any show up in another location,if so check to see if you Favs are in the other location ,if you find them copy and past to the location in the c:/user/yourname/ folder

also open windows explorer and check to see if the favorites are where they should be .C:\Users\yourname\Favorites

double click on favorites folder and open it and see if the links to sites are inside

never mind above ,as the open favorites will disappear when you click to snippit .

top row of keys ,on the far right you should have a key that says print screen or prt sc .

open favorites and hit that key ,it will save the image ,you can then copy /past it into a photo edit program like microsoft paint,it will likely be to big to post it here ,and need to either resize it or uploade it to a file storage site [just google one ]

or if you have a digital camera you could take a picture of and post that

you will be disappointed in the performance of this laptop as a medium to high end gaming computer ,good for office work and low end gaming[like www, that will play on a netbook ] ,and as already said only upgrades possible will be ram and maybe a bigger hdd, enjoy

It appears to be the hard drive is faulty.
I can boot to other HDD's with or without an OS installed,
but when I put theirs back in it gives me the blank screen after going past
POST.

I think I will see how much a new SATA 160GB drive is and see about replacing it.

I checked on my own laptop and sure enough, I have the license key that came with the preloaded windows 7 (already inputed) and a separate key with the sticker on my laptop.

this should not have been the case ,when you bought the laptop was it already setup or were you the first to turn it on and run the windows setup ,it should have used the same key as the one on the sticker .

In the assembly line, they probably just slap on the same image to each harddrive for the computer (I'm assuming). Does this mean the same license key for windows is usable? Or is each computer sent with a separate product key? Any thoughts?

yes they do but its only the setup .it then need to be finshed by the orignal owner ,a lot of box store computer shops charge crazy amounts of money to do this for customers who know no better .i never buy a laptop that has allready been setup ,future shop has a 14 day return policy ,and people buy laptop use it for 2 weeks and return it ,future shop reloads and resells it as new laptop ,tried to charge me to have it setup,when i refused ,they then told me it was a open box,not new ,i told them to shove it and left the store ,vowing to never return

On a computer installs two systems to be able to have the confusion, therefore I suggested that you delete the system, only installs one you want

in earlier days ,mice and modems use to have i/o and irq conflicts all the time ,person install some devices had the option to choose ,and some choices were left to windows ,and if windows chose the same one ,a conflict .

The answer:
"Test the graphics card in a computer with standard VGA-drivers.
Reset the computer with the old graphics card.
If the card works with the VGA driver, it's probably something wrong with its drivers.
Try lower resolution and a smaller ammount of colors

,what it saying here is to try the card in a computer with out the correct drivers for the card installed ,windows will use the vga default drive to show video on monitor ,meaning the card works ,so on other computer using the cards driver has a bad/corrupt driver,that will have to be uninstall before windows will attempt to use the ms vga default driver

not sure what that means to you exactly ,but you cant install upgrade from xp ,you need to backup your xp data ,and do format and install of win 7

hi, first let me say im no pro/don't use itunes ,but i have many time loaded windows and had file in c:windows.old, did you using windows explorer try to just simply drag and drop the itunes folder from the windows.old location to the itunes folder.

msg is not compatible command with win7 home basic,you would need to upgrade your win7 version to use that command ,your other alternative would be to use a messenger program like windows messenger

i have seen older much older computer not boot because of a dead battery ,but i guess you don't really nee battery in to get boot screen .you would not need the hdd installed ,you should be getting boot screen now if the motherboard was working ,with the keyboard plugged in do the lights on the keyboard flash when you turn the computer on

the missing cmos battery could stop it from booting, and with no ram it will likely just beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppppppp.
