It's likely an overheating CPU of VGA. You will need to check the heatsinks of those. They can get clogged with dust, preventing the cooling to take place. Also, if you recently changed the cooling of either, it is possible that the heatsink is not propperly installed. It has to …

I think the problem lies within video driver. Not a mouse. Mouse either works or not. If it is not DISPLAYED right... well, that is a VGA domain. Most of the VGAs have hardware acceleration regarding mouse pointers. You should update or roll back the video driver. If that doesn't …

I think you need to fine-tune the BIOS settings, especcialy memory timings and CPU. There is a setting regarding on-board USB controller that can be disabled. (Advanced/onboard devices/NV USB controller or like that) There are 3 options regagding USB controller, and they should all be enabled. With those disabled, you …

From the symptoms you described, it is likely a software issue. Either virus, missing system file, missing driver or corrupt registry. There are several things you can do: - During post press either F2, F12 or Del key to enter BIOS setup. In advanced menu set "quick POST" on "disabled". …

What is BIOS? It is Basic Input Output System. That is a back bone software that is implemented in your motherboard in a form of replacable chip. It is used to run the motherboard and everything on it like ide/sata/raid/scsi controllers, PCI/AGP/PCI-e slots, memory, CPU, and anything that is implemented …

That sounds more like a hardware or BIOS setup related issue. May be that your HD developed a bad sector in bood area of HD. You would also have random time delays when accessing files. To rule this out run scandisk with all options checked (takes a lot of time …

Powersurge didn't fry your mobo, for it worked afterwards, but it did damage you PSU. That is evident. Maybe the damaged PSU done some damage to Mobo/CPU/Memory but that you will see after replacing the PSU. Advice: more watts - better.

What you are doble-clicking is the shortcut to a program. If the program file is missing (uninstalled) that doesn't necessarily mean that the shortcut is removed too. Usualy the programs are installed in such manner that an "uninstall" icon is placed right under a progeam icon in a "programs" group …

Looks to me that the problem is related to the motherboard. That can lead to couple of possibilities: - dying CPU - most vournable and probbable. - toasted chipset - rare but possible - no cure, either get your warranty (if valid) or get a new motherboard - (hopefully) badly …

That happends when changing resolutions and/or frequencies. You set the pic to fit the screen, and after the resolution change, it is offset or shrinks. All monitors do that (except LCD), but not the same way. That is not a malfunction.

Only thing there is left for you to try is flashing BIOS. Maybe the switch is not connected properly or faulty. Try shorting the 2 pins on the motherboard that the switch is connected to. Some PSU-s have switch on them (back side). Maybe you missed it.

What you need to do is boot from Win Install CD, select "-r" for repair mode, and after entering password type: (I think that prompt starts in C:\WINDOWS directory) cd system32 del hal.dll cd .. cd servicepackfiles copy hal.dll c:\windows\system32\hal.dll (be careful with spelling) exit And off you go!
