Today-->saturday
Hey how about some of you really high techies throw some rep my way. If you dont i understand but just check some of my posts i am helpful.
search-->find
thanks thats all i wanted to know
haha very funny did you at least check out the forum.
how do you gain reputation i thought that when someone gives you a good comment on a post it goes up. am i wrong. i got 5 or 6 comments in my latest recieved reputation box in my cp but my rep never moves above ten.
try a virus scan then do a simple spyware scan then download hijack this and post the log in the security forum with a link back to this page or just type your problem again.
if you can access your setup page then reset the router to default. I dont know if this works on other routers but it worked with linksys. As long as you can goto your setup page 192.168.0.1 and login with admin, admin your connection should work just login and reset to defaults.
when installing vbulletin this error message comes up
"Step 2) Connect to the database
Attempting to attach to database
Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/willpull/public_html/Vbulletin/files/includes/db_mysql.php on line 140
The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file."
Im pretty sure that he has a cordless phone in the room or just out side of it. but if that is not the problem then i think it is because the modem is over in one corner and the wireless reciever is on the computer wich is in a part of the room that pushes out a bit farther so it should be any of those two. Thanks for the info.
I have windows xp pro on a virtual machine because when i tried installing it on my real computer it encoutered a driver problem and freezed during setup so i had to reinstall windows from the cd. So i wanted to know if i could just transfer files from windows xp pro on the virtual pc via email cds and disks and replace the windows folder and get all the new features.
P.s i dont have the xp pro cd and no i cannot tell you how i obtained it.
I know everyone here probably really likes this forum i do to. But right now i am making my own forum and i am looking for people to join.
just goto willpull22.remnetworks.com and click tech forum
or
goto willpull22.remnetworks.com/phpbb.
i hope that advertising another forum isnt against daniweb rules.
Windows is not the problem more than anything the problem is with your modem. What type do you have if it is 56k and built into the computer then try updating the drivers or reinstalling them. If you have a dsl or cable modem then do the same things. Also if you have a connection from a dsl/cable modem with usb you might want to switch to ethernet i have found that in my experience usb looses its connection a lot.
If the problem is really with IE then read this
http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/thread9035.html
Even though you think that this problem is spyware related it probably isn't.
It could be on a cd that has multiple things on it so it could be on a list on the side of the cd. On my works suite package all the cds are in one orange box and the product key is on the back on a little sticker.
Scott of course you never had a problem with it before you dont have any memeber. But you are right once you send funds you cant take them back.
you might need to download new drivers. The manufacturing company of your computer should have them on their site.
Try a program called zillasoft connection accelerator it can fix the speeds but i dont know about the disconnects (thats porbably a problem with either a network signal or some hardware is loose).
ok how did you setup fedora the boot loader. if you are saying that just when you load windows it messes up then just run the xp cd. Or if you cant access anything then click on this link it should help. http://www.willpull22.remnetworks.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3
oops i forgot could you try and spread the word around this goes for anybody who sees this post. A forum is nothing without members and if you have specific field that you are good at i will make you a mod.
never mind before i could not figure out how to config because I could not see the admincontrols link at the bottom. Well here is my very crude forum willpull.remnetworks.com/phpbb
I dont get allowance but next summer i will be 16 so finding a job will be easy.
i have switched my site to remnetworks (willpull22.remnetworks.com) and they offer to setup phpbb and invisionboard but after i did i couldnt figure out how to edit them to add forum sections and stuff when i asked if someone new a tutorial i meant more along how to setup a form using php that a complete beginner would understand
yes thanks.
also i posted about how to setup forum either an advanced one with php and vbulletin or a simpler javascript one. Is there a good tutorial for either.
I have a US pay pal account
goto to tech support and then security you should tell about this thread that contains the original problem.
how can you setup a donation link on your site that allows your visitors to send you money through a paypal account.
I have started my own little site (www.geocities.com/willpull22) i made it with dreamweaver in about an hour. But i wanted to add a forum page(probably wont be added until i get a paid for site.) and i was looking around and saw that most complex forums are made with VBulletin and PHP so i was wondering if anybody knows a good tutorial for this. Or is there a javascipt or something where i can setup a basic forum.
how do you make the invites i already have a gmail account
yeah its kinda hard to get the money when no one will hire anybody under 16, but soon my older brother is getting a better computer and giving his old one (which he got this year) to my sister. So then the main pc is all mine
cable modem setup through a linksys wireless router(I can get more specifications later on) Now the only thing i can think of is that there wireless router is not equiped for the recently made available faster cable speeds so it looses the connection.
I think that answers one of your questions and since it is 3:23 am here in boston i have to wait until tomorrow to get more specifications.
this is great thanks killer typo i didnt even know that google had introduced its email feature yet.
Also it is not nice to post your log in someone elses thread because everyone usually has different logs.
hey camelnotation I was just looking at all my old threads and if you are still looking for a site to get that software just goto nvidia's site.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gNrqh3OFa] C:\documents and settings\brad honnage\local settings\temp\gNrqh3OFa.exe (what is this it could be a virus)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ywp7RXMmT] dx3tcfg.exe (could also be a virus)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe 1
O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug - {AF6CABAB-61F9-4f12-A198-B7D41EF1CB52} - C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe (HKCU)
remember always make a backup via system restore or hijack this.
try adjusting the screen resolution up if installing new drivers doesnt work.
Ok my friends computer has cable modem setup through a linksys wireless router(I can get more specifications later on) and randomly while connected the error message comes up saying that a network cable has been undone. then you have to disable the network connection once or twice before you enabling it actually works. Now the only thing i can think of is that there wireless router is not equiped for the recently made available faster cable speeds so it looses the connection. either that or the computer cannot pick up the singnal.
P.s my friend is not very computer smart.
did you set up the connection in internet options<connections. go there and tell us the settings of your default connection.
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Share-to-Web\hpgs2wnf.exe
has two copies running you should goto start<run<msconfig<startup and make sure that only one copy of those programs is checked you might also want to services.
And the weatherbug on your computer
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe 1
is sort of spyware unless you want it. I find it annoying.
remember to make restore points before removing things using hijackthis just for the safety of your computer.
yeah deonnanicole has good advice that you should update because more stuff might show up and that you should scan with ad-aware and Spybot S&D because it looks like you have a pretty long log file.
first off you should update hijackthis then post a new log.
for now here is what i see:
This could be spyware but im not sure
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.ghecilotkw.com/fFp/JC16y...0nV1l/rSzO.html
so unless you know what it is then create system restore point and remove it.
And here is a tip for you about msn messenger. If you have msn messenger running at startup then what you have to do is boot into safe mode (esc+F8 while rebooting) then goto C:/program files/messenger and rename the application from msmsgs to msmsgsoff. This will make it so you dont have to manually shut down msn messenger via taskmanager every time you startup. I only said this because i noticed you had msmsgs.exe running during the scan.
4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [sdkzj.exe] C:\WINDOWS\sdkzj.exe
this might be a virus i've seen it in other logs so I would create a system restore point and fix that(unless you know that you want that program running).
O2 - BHO: myBar BHO - {0494D0D1-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL (file missing)
this file should be fixed also unless you want that extra searchbar it is a common spyware problem that i've had a lot.
oops sorry about double posting but i caught this while quickly taking a second look at your log.
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [sdkzj.exe] C:\WINDOWS\sdkzj.exe
this could be a virus i would set a system restore point and remove it using hijack this the n boot into safe mode (esc+F8 while rebooting) and delete it manually make sure the process is not running in your task manager.
In your logfile all i see is those top ones. But you say you want to delete registry files for coolwebsearch then you should goto start<run<regedt32 then look in the folders HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE<SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER<sotware in those folders is every registry entry for any software on your computer you should be able to find coolwebsearch in these folders and delete them.
from what i see everything looks fine. Oh and here is a tip you can turn off msn messenger so that it doesnt start up anymore by booting into safe mode(esc+F8 while rebooting) then goto the dir C:/program files/messenger and rename the application msmsg to msmsgoff. If it says that this file is being used by another program then open up the task manager and scroll down to msmsg.exe and end process now you should be able to rename it. I am sorry if i told you some stuff that you already know i didnt look at you techie info or read all of your post.
possibly i would scan that folders for viruses and quarantine that file.
One thing i noticed in your log is that you have advanced system optimizer which you really dont need all the tasks that it allows you to do can be done manually or dont need to be done. Thats just my opinion on it I am not telling you to remove with HJT.
Ok i found the ports on this site
http://www.aim.com/help_faq/using/win/video_im.adp?aolp=
you should of went looking at the aim site first.
as I mentioned in an early post I thought some of those entries could be viruses what you should do is boot into safe mode (esc+F8 while rebooting) then go into the folder they are all in C:/WINDOWS/system32 and delete them. If at first you cannot see these files then go up to tools<folder options<view scroll down to hidden files and folders and select show hidden files folders. if these files dont appear now then they were probably deleted when you did that virus scan.
Oh yeah set a restore point and name it something that you will remember.
Yeah Duncan probably is right if you dont know how to identify hardware problems you should call the people who made the computer and they well send someone to take a look at the hardware and see if there is anything wrong. Who knows you might just get a new Hard drive last time my computers power supply ran out I got a brand new better computer.
