Re: To change? You mean to overclock? Ususally overclocking lets you get maybe 133MHz more out of your processor, but nothing is going to turn a PII into a PIII. On the other hand ... if you mean is it possible to swap out processors in a computer. Well, that depends …

Re: grokster? Is that a file sharing program like Napster or Morpheus? I'm not sure ... As far as using FTP, use an ftp program such as WS_FTP or, my favorite, SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com) File sharing programs don't use standard FTP server/clients to transfer ... they use their proprietary ports ...
Re: Great minds think alike! I've already been doing that over at the forums at www.computing.net. I've been responding to a fair number of posts, and I sign each one of my responses: TechTalk Forums http://www.techtalkforums.com The problem with that is it is awfully time consuming. And not only that, but …

Re: I'm just sooooo not an ATI person. I used to have a Rage 128 and then a Radeon. When I realized that there weren't any good linux drivers for the Radeon I switched to Nvidia and never went back.
After hours and hours of work, it looks like all of the back-end code behind TechTalk is just about completely finished! All of the code has been optimized and (hopefully) I tried realllllly hard to make sure all the HTML code has been optimized. All I need is a lil …
I just noticed the darn JavaScript jumpbox doesn't work on all of the pages! The code is the exact same for all of 'em ... I dunno what its problem is. I'm studying chemistry and computer architecture for 2 midterms right now ... but as soon as I get a …

Re: Bruce Almighty was really good :) I just saw it recently too. I used to absolutely hate Jim Carrey when he did all that stuff like Ace Ventura but ever since The Truman Show I have loved him.
Re: Hmm ... the only 3D programs I've ever used have been Amorphium, Bryce, and Poser. I don't think any of them are specifically targeted towards any Macromedia software however. I live in Dreamweaver (and Photoshop, but that's besides the point) but when it comes to anything else by Macromedia, I'm …
This board formally dedicated to aeinstein :) Is this what you had wanted? ??? I'm still confused! ;D

Re: Is it possible to do some rudiamentary X86 stuff with cgywin? (i.e. lets say you wanted to write Liang's stick figure program which uses QT)
Re: Yup ... but you don't want my opinion ;D It's basically the same as previous versions of VB, with a few lil statements changed. Also, it's more object oriented, if that's even possible. For just about every single command, you have to specify the exact object/object property you are talking …
So ... whatcha think? The first choice is the way it is now. The last choice is the most condensed (but also provides the least amount of info).
I hand-redid the entire database. I reentered all the values in - half of them were screwed up from the conversion. After altering 1000+ cells of tables of the database, let me know pleeeeez if anything at all doesn't work or look right. Thanks!

Re: Personally, I have an AMD Athlon XP dedicated to WinXP and an Intel P4 dedicated to Red Hat. If you're going to dual boot, have win installed first, then install linux on a second partition and use GRUB (a boot loader which comes built into the installs of many distributions, …
The changes were slight, but just curious if any of you noticed some changes I made to the homepage. I adjusted the width of the columns so that the time/date display is easier to read. Also, I changed all of the descriptions for the different boards. I'm still debating whether …
I'm thinking about buying my first mac soon (a desktop). I'm basically very intrigued by the bsd-based OS X. In any case ... I'm looking to make a purchase as early as sometime this summer, but I'm willing to wait. Are the G5's coming out soon, or at all? Or …
I think I have a virus!! Yesterday, my PC suddenly went up to 100% cpu and never came back down. Then, today, random message boxes kept popping up on my screen (no apps open). One of them, for example, said "We Were Four Guys ... That's All[interview].wma" Then I got …
Re: Looks like it has been all resolved! I called up OptOnline and they fixed the problem. It seems it was just us! The rest of the world was all seeing the new version right from the start.
I've noticed that when I close the forum and then re-open it, instead of the "Hey, TechTalkGal" message I usually get, it says "Welcome Guest" ... Well, just wanted to let you know that I've discovered that there is no need to re-login when this happens. Just refresh your page …

Anyone know of any cheats or trainers for Airport Tycoon? It's a really crappy game but I'm looking for trainers for it all the same :-P
Re: Cheating is good for some games ... like Game Genie on the ol' Nintendo and Sega systems. As far as most computer games, cheating can help you learn the game ... but then it isn't fun once you know you *could* do it yourself if you really tried. Ok, that's … |
