Another reason why virus writers write for Windows, is they aren't open source, and in the hacker community, they can tell others that they did this on a non-open source operating system. ALso, since Linux is open source, the holes are patched within a few hours - days.

If you have a secure erasing application you can get rid of the whole text file. I hope this helps, and tell me if it does.

I do use Opera and Firefox mostly. However, right now I'm using IE7 because I just installed XP and haven't had enough time to finish installing all of my software.

I agree with everybody else about the overheating. When I got my laptop (I got it used from a friend), I had popped out the keyboard and removed many of the components and cleaned it out. Has been working fine since.

My laptop gets a little under 2 hours of battery, which is the Dell C600. However, I've used a notebook that get's about 6 hours of battery life, and one that got 8 hours of battery life. If your want to increase your battery life, you probably want to add …

I got an Emachine Emonster600 computer from my cousin, because he's trying to get rid of some of his old computers. Well, I got it working originally, except for the fact that when I gave it power (in this case, just plugging the computer into the wall), it would start …

Oracle000! Java isn't Javascript. She needs to enable Javascript in her browser, or go to Adobe's site and install the latest flash player.

Move the ad under the top of the page (that is horizontal) and place it on the bottom of the page, because it makes the site look really weird.

Jbnnnet, have you tried to make the outgoing port be 80 (which is always unblocked, because it's the port normal web traffic is moved on) and the outgoing be something like 27960 (which is used for quake 3, be creative, because that may not work) for outgoing?

Unless you absolutly need Windows Vista, I would personally recommand avoiding it for the time being. It's incompatible with a lot of hardware, and also it's just not necessary if you are currently running Windows XP or Windows 2000. What are your thoughts on this subject matter?

My current favorite is Novell and Cisco. Novell for software and Cisco for hardware. Even, though I haven't experienced any Cisco products, I really like what I hear, in magazines such as eWeek. Cheers, DarrGlud "I hope Staples sells that 200gb 20$ drive in a SATA model"

Another common question. You will need to find a 3rd party boot loader, and setup arguments to get both drives to be able to be booted from. Although, i think you can do this with Windows built-in boot loader, I would Google Windows 98 and XP dual booting.
