See if your cd rom is properly detected ... if you want to install XP, then you'll have to have your cd rom as your primary boot device.

Do you remember your administrator password ?? If yes then when you get to your login screen (I assume you're using windows xp) press ctrl-alt-del twice and the screen will switch to classic .. now you can type in administrator as username and the password for administrator.
