Probably you have a corrupted mouse driver .. so you should uninstall the driver and restart your computer to install it again when windows finds the new device.

If the copying process window is active then the copying will be faster. The strategy behind this tip is that windows by default gives more cpu time to the active application. I observed it when copying large amounts of data from one hard drive to another.

Check if your RAM is doing fine ... these types of errors are usually caused by faulty RAM. If you could just tell us the exact stop error code, it'll help diagnose the problem more closely.
