That is a good attitude to adopt, Marketing Rob. I also do need blackberry as an extension but I did once in the past used my TREO as an lifeline. I do wonder if there is a study on people who use cell phones as a substitute for real-life connection.
I like the blackberry since I can see my emails all in one but one thing for sure, I sure did not link my work email to my blackberry even though many people at my job did. If I did this, my cell would have much much more emails and it will drive me insane.

I read about the numerous online Black Friday sales. I even went on Twitter beforehand to search for discount codes, I even used the hashtag #blackfriday. There was alot of crap on Twitter leading me to websites that looked shady. I even stayed up late tonight so I can visit popular department store sites and I was not impressed with the sales. I wonder if I am the only one who experienced this.
I do encourage advertising on second tier search engines like Yahoo, Bing, and even Ask.com. I noticed on some sites that Ask.com and Aol bring more traffic than Yahoo.
OMG - I saw something about this on UP9 but I did not realized it was all based on the lack of a tweet!!! The lines of separation between offline and digital lives are more blurred every day.
Yes I am like that as well which is why I did not get an IPhone. I have a friend who have an IPhone with all the bells and whistles of social media - including tweet deck and much more.

Some form of social media have always existed through the time of those dignitaries - its just the technology that have increased throughtout the years that have made social media more engaging. So think of it, JFK used early TV, Martin Luther King used radio and tape recorders;, Churchill - photography, Reagan - all the above.

This whole issue reflects an underlying that social media can be our friend but it can also be our foe. There is no straight cut line delineating professional and personal lives. Not anymore. It does not matter which country you are from or live, this is a pervasive issue demonstrating that online behavior have offline consequences.
I think that technology has made it easier for us to use and access social media all of the time. I remember back in the old days, I will only use my AOL email after work hours. Now I can check it anytime!!
At a Kaplan prep class for a graduate school test, the instructor said that he knew for a fact that many schools admissions have access to a special type of Facebook admin rights where they can view profiles that are "locked" or "private".
Oh that is so funny. But not to be a devil's advocate, but most companies prefer a .com because you hardly ever see a .com on the search engine result pages, with the exception of .gov, .edu, and .org.
Thanks for the warning. Phishers have become more smarter int heir approach and unfortunately so many people fall into it. I did back years ago with aol and then now even emails from those accounts end up in friends' junk mailbox. :-(
Ning is an example of a good worthy technology that was just displaced with newer and more popular sites. Does anyone remember Copernic? I used to pay for Copernic search services back in the mid 90's and it was great. Now, most people never heard of them. They got displaced by Google.

Very good question. I remember Guy Kawasaki said at a conference earlier this year that he follows everyone who follows him. There were many disgruntled look in the big audience room shortly afterwards. I used to have a modified version - if the Follower seemed legit, yes I would follow. If the Follower looked like a spammer or some business in China, I definitely would not follow them. What is the likelihood of me going to China in the near future? Very low.
