write an encryption program. not a super highlevel one. but one that works like this

User inputs password to log in, after that, he can right mouse click a file and hit a tab that will now be ther that previously wasnt that says somthing like encrypt this file. or add to safe box. or one when the user can have a window pop up for him to drag files into for encryption. when he is done, he simple logs out and files dissapear untill next login.

open up dos and navigate to the program and run it, then it will stay on the screen. there is also a fix for this too, that will wait for one last piece of input for the user before it closes. but i dont remember the syntax or the command.

In my honest opinion C++ is much much harder than any math you will ever do, to a degree. a programmer will spend his life programming only to become a very good sufficient programmer after years of practice and writing apps. But math is right there, its given to you in a book, its up to you to find the answer. I find math to be easy personally, i dunno why, but i find math easy, and i always have, the only math that was hard for me, was trigonomi identities (such as cosx+tanx =? cscx-secx ) stuff like that.

i though too find programming to be fun and easy to a degree, like today i spent all day during fourth period (the period i ta for one of my old math teachers) just thinking of ways i can write a program, i fnally got so into it, that i pulled out my pencil and paper and started writing short blocks of code, then adding some more, writing down comments, things like that. lol i dunno. i just find them both easy and hard to compare, though i think programming will be harder.

last thought..maybe you can compare them in the aspect that they both have periamids you must climb to reach the top. neither one is steeper than the other, both are hard, and take years of dedication to honestly become good at.

or i may be just rambling on right now...so ignore mee...lol

I had one motherboard prob where the thing wouldn't post at all. I unplugged everything and tried again. Nothing. I removed the mobo ready to send it back. Decided to have one last try the next day and it worked perfectly.

almost sounds like you have the voltage set for if u were in the UK (the little red switch on back of machine), but i dunno. all i know is that is one of the symptoms of having it set to wrong voltage. only starts up sometimes. or works works works works. dun work dun work...works works. .random stuff like that.

can not stress that enough, programming is somthing you can not expect to learn without using a book, weather it be a book on programming it self, or a book with just example snipets, you will need a book and need one often. books on engineering, software design, anything you can think of related to programming are always good things to read, and you can get them at your local library for free, just check it out, read it, and return it. if you need it again, check it out again. if you find its a book that you will need often, just purchase ur own copy of it.

That seems a little more complicated compared to alias wavefront's maya unlimited. It may cost money but (bittorrent hint hint) it was used on things like the lord of the rings, and some video games.

its actually a vary simple easy to use program.

just use outlook, i believe it can be configured for hotmail accounts. (one of the things ive liked about hotmail...sure you get a tiny inbox, but you can set it up with out look so all messages are saved onto ur machine)

Thanks K_t, hey im just curious do you have a modeling program that you think is the best to use. Right now i am using maya 6 unlimited. Its ok it took me not much time to figure out how to do fairly simple modeling and animation. I tried 3ds max but i didnt like the setup.

its called anim8or. its a tiny tiny program, and considered one of the most powerful for its size and the fact that its freee.

http://www.anim8or.com its got considerable one of the best user communities out there. ask and ye shall recieve. i used to model with that program. its got a very very easy design layout, and any questions you may have, i can probably answer because of how well i used to be with the program.

also you should check the run section of his computer, chances are that things riddled with viruses also.

Start>Run>type "regedit" without the quotes

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Wdindows>Current Version>Run. and look in there, on my machine, i only have about 3 or 4 tthings, and most all of them are related to Norton tools. infact all of them are norton startup items except one item, and its server.exe with the name Registry. so it should be fairly little on the number of things in the run section. 5 or 6 at the most.

im not sure if this hall.dll was ever resolved, but i read online it had to do with a bad boot.ini file....

im all about the PC, the only reason people think mac is better is because thats what MAC says, if microsoft claimed that then people would be like. oooo see microsoft is better now because they say they are. Really it depends on the machines and the specs, a crappy old mac sure aint better than a pc, and a new mac sure is better than a crappy old PC. but overall, i think PC's are better.

its an alright model for a beginer, but its in need of alot of work. i used to model in 3d...a whole lot. but i just got bored with it. anyways. i would recomend boxmodelling, and trying to make it all one single object except for moving parts (clip, arm rest. dun worry bout trigger, unless you plan on animating it. also the firing mode switch)

I think C++ has been always kind of dead. The only major software i can think of that was written in C++ is Mozilla and Qt (Even though major implementaion of these software was rendered in C). I don't know why people like C++ so much, when you can achieve object oriented design through C. GTK and Gnome are perfect examples of that. Plus a lof of people still prefer writing code in pure Win32 API rather than messy MFC.

i love SG-1 Starttrek all of series except deepspace nine, i didnt really like that one, i got into it for a little bit...then i didnt watch it anymore. Though i would have to say im prolly the only person out of all my friends that likes star trek and SG-1.

i think it has to do with the frequency in which you use ur account, i dun use mine much so i dun get very many invites, but i see others that use it alot that get them alot. i dunno i guess it all depends on the account.

you gotta remember that alot of those virus'es that are sent people dont even know they are sending them. Its just spammed out through email or some other method. Now it would be differently if someone was sitting at his computer and personaly sent the virus to you. but most spread through email so its like if you got one from my email addy, its not like i mean tto send it to you. i was most likley already infected with it, so it sent itself in an email to someone else.

If the settings have been changed there's already the appropriate drivers installed, so no real need to get new ones I'd consider.

that step was just to ensure that they had the tab for the next step. for all i know they dont, cant assume i know somethings there when it might not be.

its a rotation setting deffinatly trust me on this. it would be correct all the way up to the loading of the video driver because the monitor display's in VGA mode when booting up so that it is compatible with all forms of video cards.

if it is Nvidia go to http://www.nvidia.com and get latest drivers and do this step.

i noticed you lowerd my rating? why i was simply offereing up that SP2 might not be a wise download and could make things worse. it sounds to me like a setting needs to be fixed. it may look fixed to you but its obviously somthing. there was no need to lower my rep.

i dont recomend getting SP2 just yet, there have been alot of issues with it, and most of the machines at my fathers work are actually runnig worse with it. its far to buggy to be getting just yet.

it sounds like you need alot more experience in C++ before you dive into a game. Try other books on programming, and do some tutorials, it sounds like your very new, and a game might be a little to far out of your reach.

why not just let it install the version on the disk, even if you have 7, just let it install 5. after ur done with the game just re-get direct x

this should help you get on your feet quite nicely . once you have finished installing your web server and reading through w3schools giude to PHP, check out the snippets section and see how PHP works, study the scripts and try to interpret what it should do. Try messing with the scripts, or purposefully making them not work, look to see what kind of errors you recieve and such. its all about the practice.

i dunno how safe that way is. ive seen many people get sites passwords and usernames by typing "@domainname.com" in google, sometimes google caches that little bit and will display it in the search results. i know thats a common way to steal porn site passwords at least..

There is no right order. You might even want to play with all of the above and see which one you like the most. Learn that language well, then move on to another. The languages aren't that dissimilar---they should come easy after you learn 1 or 2.

exactly, learning one language may not help you at learning another, but you may find that you like one language over another, and or find it easier to work with (lol which is why i work with PHP scripting and not C++, but i hope to make the moove soon) but if i had to recomend any of the languages to just learn, i would go wth just C++ because it is by fare the best in my opinion and most commonly used. but its up to you what you want to learn.
