what i don't understand is the price ,why would /should it cost 1200.00 ,just because its suggested for business, business's must like being ripped off.
We have a 500.00 Toshiba ,going on 3 yrs old ,running vista [still the original install],used everyday since new ,never had a issue of any sort , nice screen ,nice keyboard ,used to burn 100's of movies to dvd ,music on CD ,watch tv on it even ,why pay more !!

no,not positive ,5or6 yr old computer it could be anything ,try it with just one stick of ram at a time

ram is not likely the cause ,overheating is a more likely cause ,look around inside for dust buildup

assuming you mean "cpu" its not wise to let a non-booting computer run till the processor gets hot .you may be just doing more harm ,it may already be too late ,no way of telling that i know of ,except changing the CPU

assuming you did all you could to make it switch to the monitor ,like using the FN + the appropriate F key ,like the toshiba we have here its FN+F5 key.
it sounds like its either the lcd ,or the onboard video device chip

it may not even be a corrupt registry , start with memtest86 to
check you ram .download the ISO file for windows and using isoburn or win7 iso burning tool , burn to disk to make a bootable dist to run the ram check .go to the free download link and get the latest version

then go to your harddrive makers website and get there utility for checking the harddrive for errors/damage

I have already done chkdsk twice (previously) and no errors or bad sectors. I think it might be a registry error, beause that is the only option I have not yet explored. Do you know any place where I can download the default system registry for win7 so I can replace my registry?

P.S. I have a SATA drive.

there is no default windows registry file ,all are unique to each computer .doing a system restore back to before the registry corruption occurred is a option

Thanks you about your response but the problem is that the window's firewall don't succeed to block even the incoming traffic which caused by the program.

bottom line is,windows firewall isn't and never was reliable .
the 3rd party firewall in my last post will do it for you

anyway did you try hooking it to a regular computer monitor ,laptop should have a vga plug on the side or back of it .

the acer netbook should have a recovery on a separate partition on the hard drive, you should use one of the FN keys to get you to boot options ,where you can choose to boot to the recover and run it ,usually f10 or f11

it sure wouldn't hurt to try another keyboard .what type of keyboard and mouse is it USB or PS2
you get to safe mode by hitting the f8 key, will only work for you if the keyboard works before windows is started ,

check programs and feature in the control panel to see, View installed updates ,and see IE shows ,see image below

if you didn't backup registry before making the changes to it ,then i suggest a system restore back to the day before you edited the registry .

pop in and tell them to check the video card ,as it was the first thing suggested

When I want to get on my computer, I jiggle my mouse, hit enter and nothing happens. It takes about 10 minutes for it to fire up. This never used to happen. Has been doing this about a month now. Do you know what the problem is? Please explain clearly to me. I am not a computer geek. Thank you.

assume you mean you are using hibernation and having problems getting it to resume from hibernation ,i was never a big fan of how well it didn't work so stopped using it yrs ago .this might help certainly wont hurt

Speccy seems to be the latest software [ one i use for past while anyway ]suggested for computer info .when installing if you install it ,make sure to uncheck installing any toolbar ,

hello ,not many laptops have the option to change the video device as its almost always soldered to the motherboard ,ones that do have the option are usually dedicated ,sold as gaming laptops like the dell Alienware brand .that why its always bect to check on the specs and suggested use of the laptop when buying it .form what i read on google its clearly not a gamer ,a entertainment laptop at best/movies /photo editing .ect ect

ok, but you posted in the windows nt/2000/xp section of this forum ,the other 2 os's are not supported by the program so i assumed you were using xp sp3 ,so what version of windows or what OS are you using

are you running winxp sp3, first let me said i never heard of the program ,so i goggled it ,did you check there troubleshooting info found here ,the source of a program is usually the best place to find help from people who use said program good luck .
