our Toshiba D350 [I think ]is 3 yrs old and never broke down, still running the original install of Vista ,and its been used to burn 100,s of movie dvd's

just found this info,you need to boot to the bios /setup when you first turn on the computer to find these settings

If you have the option for Hardware Virtualization, Virtualization Technology, or Hardware Virtualization Technology it should be located under the Power options tab. Other options that can be found under Power options include "After AC power failure", "NX no execute", S5 max power savings", and "WOL in S5". If you do not see the Virtualization option under Power, look through all of the options tabs. If you can't locate the Virtualization option anywhere in your BIOS it is likely that it is not supported by your computer.

capacitors charging

caps don't charge ,there purpose is to cool the the power as it flows through them ,I would cerntly be weary of a loud bang check the power setting[usually a small red switch] on the back of the psu ,it should be set to either 115V or 220V what ever is coming into the house ,in USA and Canada it would be 115V for most of us ,some business might be 220
last time I put a spu that did the big pop it wast toasted ,no more good

My pc appears to have an onboard Asus video card with a slot with something in it saying sli selector dual video cards.

the sli selector would be left in if you were to add a single pci-e video card ,and removed if you were to run it in duel sli mode ,using 2 video cards

if I had in my in my hands I would remove the bios battery [the silver battery near the pci slots I think if the picture I have from the internet is correct ]for a few minutes to reset bios to defaults ,hook everything back up and try again ,good luck

Hi,and welcome to Daniweb ,please share the make and exact model #,if its a brand name ,any new software or hardware you might have added lately that could have cause the problem ,when you had it open did you check fans [make sure fans are spinning including pwer supply fan]and such for dust ,that could be causing overheating

not sure but it almost sounda like you simply need to create a storage folder ,say in the mydocuments folder ,call it "Java DB installation directory" and then when as for it direct it to the folder you created ,I could be wrong .

some of out stuff has always been going to the cloud ,when I sent pictures through mail program they are saven on the isp sever for a time ,when we use site like imageshack we are putting our stuff on there server to share with others , the cloud always was ,just being used a whole lot more than before ,perhaps ,someone just gave it a catchy name.

actually ,msconfig is meant as a troubleshooting tool and not meant to disable programs ,but I have used it to do so for many years without any problems ,but now I use the program from micrtosoft that is really meant for turning off,for those interested just run the program and go to the login tab to disable unwanted programs from starting on bootup autoruns,

it is just that the hard drive isnt recognized.

yes I under stand that ,by using ultimate boot disk you can check the harddrive in ubcd see the drive and you can try to repartition and format the disk so that windows will be able to see the drive .

hazzag1995,you are correct ,I got mixed up with my old cable modem ,that has a usb connection that I think was only used for internet connection .
but I still say the camera will not connect wirelessly to the router ,they connect to the little monitor/wireless combo device that comes with them

hi ,I actually meant the # of the dvd burner ,but I guess the adapter # will do , I have a question though ,how do you know the adapter is bad ,did you have it checke to see if it was still putting out power ,someone in the know would be able to test it with a multimeter

if it like the one I hooked up ,the camera is wireless to the 6 inch monitor that can then be plugged into the computer via a usb cable and using software installed on the computer can then be used to monitor the camera ,instead of using the 6in monitor ,but it will not hook to the wireless router to show on any computer on the network ,not the one I hookedup anyway

to the best of my knowledge it will not delete the partition ,just reinstall on C:\, but having said that nothing is positive with computer and windows ,so its always best to backup any personal data before trying something like this ,back up to a external drive or DVD is my suggestion to you
