I think your motherboard hit shirking problem.

that motherboard shirking is a hard one to fix ,did you try installing google chrome

you list all parts but the monitor ,no by any chance using a dvi to vga converter to connect it to the monitor are you

compaq doesn't show driver for wixp for this model ,did you downgrade to winxp from vista .if so this may be the problem with the network adapter

update network drive might help ,also update xp tp sp3 ,

check device manager for the network adapter and try updating it or delet it and reboot computer to reinstall the driver .maybe!!

what is the make and model # of the computer .
maybe we could direct you to updated device drivers fo it

i did scan the file ,and unchecked not install the toolbars/search provider and it still installed them ,so no way of stopping what it did ,the toolbars were not malicious just annoying and took over both my browsers .

OP hasn't returned in 12 days ,unless they are gone on a 2 week vacation they likely never will return .

are you running windows xp sp3 ,if not you should be .to check right click on mycomputer icon ,go properties it will say there what Service pack you have installed .

from the info in the image you posted it looks like a issue with the network device or network device driver issue

to see all the bsod 's listed give this a try ,

Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

watch out for added search engine/tool bars and other crap that's in the download.i never agreed to any of it,un checked it all when installing it , but it deleted all my home pages and changed it to Babylon

hi,did you uninstall the drivers for the old GPU then shut down the computer before you installed the new card ,and you check to make sure the new card would be compatible with the motherboard

sorry ,i don't own a Sony with a remote so i don't know how it works ,but i google search how to do it and it said it[vaio zone ] worked with vaio zone ,so if you already have vaio zone on the laptop then you would not need to run the exe file in the above link.

anyway ,i will assume that you are using win7 ,go to start /control panel /change to large icon view and go to default programs and select the default programs for said icons on the desktop ,or try right clicking on the desktop icons and choose open with and choose the correct program,as we all have different icons on our desktop i cant assume what icons you are referring to,good luck

Did the remote come with the computer when you bought it ,not positive but i think the remote controls VAIO Zone,so do you have viao zone installed on the laptop ,if not you can download it from here , see it that gives you remote use .as i said im not sure if the remote is solely software or it there is some piece of hardware also install into the desktop that needed to use the remote .as all the remotes in my house use inferred,a computer maybe using Bluetooth to do it .and i will assume yours does too ,good luck

does it have a stock intel cpu fan like the one in the link ,and is clean of dust ,the way the fins are angled causes it to dust up fast ,did for me anyway ,if it not like the one in the link,make sure its dust free in any case
