As the forum administrator, I often pay attention to how many users are currently online and how many users are currently browsing each category. I also like to see which names I recognize as being online a lot to pick out who the regulars are. But I never actually go …

It depends how much SEO effort you put into the keyword "green apples". DaniWeb can rank #1 for "green apples" if I splatter that phrase all over the site and in the anchor text of links pointing here. "DaniWeb" doesn't exactly have the words "IT Discussion Community" in the domain …

Hi, and welcome to DaniWeb. Sorry but I don't even know what a dbx file is. You're much better off asking your question in the most relevant forum here.

Hi, I wanted to reserve the top row for links related to a member's particular user account. A member search is not at all a commonly used feature, and therefore, to eliminate clutter (ie there's no reason to have an infrequently used item in prime page real estate) I simply …

For all your mac dvd/video questions, check out: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9 Please don't discuss unlimited region changes here because as far as I know, that's illegal. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Head over to that site though and they should be able to help you. Personally I don't feel that macs are …

I think that hapiscrap is talking about entering HTML code into a text file, saving it with an .html extension, and uploading it to a web server.

It seems as if just about all the threads in the Website Reviews forum are getting responses. When posting, people get as much out as they put in. If a website review thread looks as if it was just created to self-promote, no one is going to take the time …

You only have a total of 5 active points. Anything older than that carries zero weight and always will. That being said, there is a little page navigation link in your member profile to view your older infractions.

I'm looking into purchasing a new phone / pda for my Verizon service. It will be my first PDA since my old Psion days in the early/mid 90s. The two phones I'm currently looking at are the Palm Treo 700W Smartphone and the Verizon Wireless XV6700. For more information, check …

I'm not sure what you mean by 4 links off the original? Do you mean that it is a simple five page website?

It depends upon what keywords you bid on. I bid on $1 CPC keywords and I bid on $0.01 CPC keywords. Google AdWords had a $0.01 minimum while Yahoo! has a $0.10 minimum.

If you want to go the route of in-text advertising, there's Vibrant Media, Tribal Fusion's echo something-or-other (sorry, I forget the actual name off hand), Kontera, and ContextWeb. I'm sure there are more. :)

I think it's fine ... like if you had it in a right column and that column didn't scroll, to give the illusion of frames. Nothing in google's tos says it's not allowed since you're not directly editing any of the actual adsense code.

CSS is meant to be used in conjunction with HTML. HTML pages are still going to be the pages that are accessed by the web browser and contain all of the content. CSS will just help you style the page differently - it's 100% aesthetics.

Google PR, or PageRank, is just a scale of how many other webpages out there point to your site.

Favorite is Cold Stone ... a scoop of Cake Batter, a scoop of Cheesecake, beat together with cookie dough pieces, chunks of yellow cake, chocolate shavings, and a stream of fudge mixed in. Second favorite is Cookie Dough Dippin' Dots, conveniently (or maybe not) five steps away from Coldstone.
