I think one of the main reasons is that you CANNOT [I]ULTIMATELY [/I]know what you want to do, and thus you must expose yourself to as many subjects as possible.

I use IE 7 when I visit a IE-only site, but for the most part, I use FF. no matter what the heck Bill Gates and Microsoft do to IE, i'm sticking with Mozilla.

i agree.. also C++ is highly desirable because you can use it for virtually any computer program: you can modify game maps, open object-oriented programs, do web sites, the whole 9 yards. Java is okay, and so is J++, but C++ is by far more useful.
