You have probably been infected with adware and/or spyware. In these cases I like to start fresh by deleting the partition and reinstalling the OS and drivers. Before doing that you should backup any data you want to keep (pictures, word files, etc. NO PROGRAMS!!)) onto a cd-rom. After you …

First try getting a new battery for the motherboard. Be careful to get the right one to avoid injury to you or damage to the system. If this fails the motherboard is likely dead. We will discuss the other issue once that one is fixed.

So you see 3 versions of the desktop, one on top of the other? Is it the same when 1st booting up? Do you see 3 versions of the POST screen or does this just happen when the OS loads?

Sure you can encrypt the drive then delete the partition and/or reformat it. Use truecrypt to encrypt the entire drive (use a decent password with characters, uppercase letters, lowercase and numbers). It is open source, so no cost. install it and use it to encrypt the drive. Then reformat it …

you are saying that you changed components of the computer right? If so, you should install the drivers for the new components and erase the old components from the system. Alternatively, you may find it easier to format and reinstall the operating system then install all the pertinent drivers..
